I desperately want to have good pictures, but am consumed by fear. We took our family to San Diego on vacation --the first time the eight of us would be together in 2 years--and I searched for a photographer. I'm so lucky I found Ellen. She is insanely talented! She has such a unique style and the resulting pictures are rich in colors. I also love how she captures candid and real moments. After, I didn't think she got any of me--and I was shocked that there were several. Ellen has a unique story. She, her husband, and her son lived in Ukraine near the border of Russia. She was a children's photographer but didn't like studio photographer. So she, convinced clients to let her take pictures in their homes. They were unsure--my couch is so old; my apartment is out of style; etc. Now, most their homes are destroyed by war. And she's received letters thanking her for work--they cherish the pictures. I can't wait to hire her again in the future. Now that I know what's possible. Ellen also helped me choose colors for our outfits. She did everything to ensure a positive experience. The photos came in the exact time she quoted us but the edits look like pictures taken and edited off an iPhone. Not happy with them. I had to re-crop and edit majority of all photos as best I could as all the edits completely washed out our skin tone, the colors of the sky etc. I asked for the raws so I could just edit them myself from scratch and it's been 2 weeks and still haven't received them. Didn't remind us or inform to take phones/wallets out of pockets so those just look lovely in all our photos **sarcasm**. Book with someone else who knows what they're doing and takes their time on special memories like this. Updating my review! Got some of the raws back a day after making my review, which was nice of her to send as she said she didn't usually do so, but the quality of the photos look like they were taken on an iPhone..it was nice to see some of the photos that didn't come through as finals.
