We even asked if this place was new and was surprised to hear it's been around for several years. We had the top floor corner room with spectacular views of the mountains. The bedding was clean, the restroom was tidy, and we appreciated the complimentary breakfast. As luck should have it, one of us forgot the Kindle in the room and didn't notice till after we drove back to Salt Lake City. We frantically called the hotel to see if Housekeeping found it, thankfully they did. However, it's taken almost a full month to connect with the right person on making payment to mail it back. So, note to self....check and check again BEFORE leaving the room!

I had two waffles, hot chocolate, and some sausage and my sister had some Froot Loops which she rated 5 stars, the hot chocolate was a little hot, but after a few minutes, it was ready to go. It tasted so good. THE ROOM: the room was very hot when we came here. We wish that they would keep on the air conditioning so that way it would be cool in the room when guests come in. Sleep: we got not that much sleep we got four hours to six hours of sleep due to coming here a little late but we wish that it was colder in the room because maybe we would've slept better. TV: I couldn't really turn it off. It was just pretty boring. It had just basic channels no cable and I don't like the TV. Other things to add: The shower had hot water. The shower was amazing. It felt so good. On the other hand the bed wasn't really comfortable, but we slept good so that's pretty good. The hotel is nice But not my favorite. The doors creek a lot. It is a two story building with no elevator, which I was aware of. Still, this 68-year-old man dragging two suitcases and a cooler up the stairs gave me some exercise, though we chose the second floor. Adequate free parking. There is an indoor pool to the right as you enter the hotel, with the front desk to the left. There is a "sports bar"(more on that later) and a "steakhouse" on the premises. A very nice young woman checked us in, though it took longer than usual, I think due to their slow computer system. At any rate, I had to run to the bathroom and leave the final steps to my wife. The room was clean, which was most important. Beds weren't very comfortable, but they provide plenty of pillows. Bathroom and shower were small. Shower pressure was so-so. Bathroom fan was great. AC worked fine. Mini fridge and blow dryer provided. There were a lot of families attending sporting events also staying at the hotel. A lot of the kids were roaming free and making noise. We were concerned. However, we were not disturbed at night. We did go to the sports bar for dinner. This was a fairly small room with a bar and stools, some high tables, a few pool tables, and two or three TVs. They had few beers on tap, it appeared mostly domestic, but the very nice young female bartender offered a nice IPA in a can. Hotel guests get $5 off the burgers, which are hand-pressed and very good, and it comes with a side, for a total of $11. The fries and sweet potato fries were average, kind of soggy, and I like them crispy. The food all comes from the "steakhouse" next door, which doubles as the location of the complimentary breakfast, which is the usual scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, coffee, juices, and some other choices. Not bad. All in all, this hotel fulfilled our need for a stopover on our way to see our son. At $200 a night, just an OK value.

Found out we couldn't check in because computer system was down. About 30 min sitting in the lobby, we were told ok to check in. When we started checking in we were told that they didn't have any pet rooms so I couldn't stay there with a pet. I said the reservation has already been paid and has been paid as a pet room since it required extra on the website. They said they couldn't do anything. I stood there until something was done. The manager did NOT seem to care but they "agreed" to put us up in a 2nd level room (of note, no elevators here either). I don't know why they said there were no pet rooms and then all of the sudden did. I mean...maybe it's because it looked like this (see pics) and no one had cleaned it? Anyway stay away from this place.

Even the touch and enter key cards worked flawlessly. The lobby had a nice lounge with big comfortable chairs and a TV that I watched for a while when my wife was still asleep in our room. The only thing missing was a hot tub/spa. They had an excellent swimming pool, but I like a hot tub better.

This Super 8 Wyndham is conveniently located right off of the freeway. Not much in terms of restaurants and shops nearby, but again, this is a super small town. When I first arrived, the lady who checked me in was still in training. I arrived super late since my initial flight had gotten delayed, but they were very accommodating. My key stopped working twice while I was there, but luckily there was someone at the front desk to help me both times that it happened (it seems pretty slow here and there isn't always someone up front). Once I made it into the room, it felt pretty comfortable. The room itself (and the entire hotel quite frankly) is in dire need of an upgrade. The chair seat fabric was ripped and needed to be reupholstered, and the shower tiles in the bathroom could use some re-grouting. Super old school looking decor. I also found it odd that the sink was located outside of the bathroom, but that wasn't a huge issue for me. What's most important was that it was clean and comfortable. I had a second floor end unit, so it was pretty quiet for the most part. This seems like trucker territory as most of the cars in the parking lot were large trucks. Speaking of parking; it's extremely limited. Every night I was lucky to snag one of the last parking spots closest to my hotel room. They advertise a "complimentary breakfast" which is basically cereal and a waffle maker. Didn't partake in the breakfast as there wasn't much offered. For a short stay, it's alright but don't expect anything fancy. I probably wouldn't stay here again unless I had no better options nearby (which was the case this time around). But for what it's worth, it was decent.

The door does not slam shut behind you which makes for a quieter hallway and keeps you from being locked out when you run for ice located on the first floor. There is even underground parking with an inside stairway up to the lobby. Best part is it is walking distance to a great restaurant- Main Street Grill, which has a full bar and good food.

The room is about the size of an average bedroom. Maybe 10x8 or a little bigger? I'm bad at guessing. The bathroom is about the size of, well, it's small. Just a toilet and stand up shower. The bathroom sink is a pedestal sink in the bedroom. Itty bitty fridge and microwave. I will say that last night when I stayed at Americas Best Value Inn in Socorro,NM I paid about the same price (after haggling them down a little) for a huge room that was a little bit more updated. But that was a different state. PROS: +Cheap +Pet friendly +Lovely people running it. +Direct tv +Free wifi that works well +Motor in style, I like being able to see my car right outside of my room + squishy comfy pillows +nice sheets + loved the comforter.
