Fun place to make your own pottery…read more I've been to a handful of these make-your-own-pottery places, and the biggest difference of the other places I've been to and here is that you need to ask every single time you want a different color or paint. :( Usually the paints are just stacked on a tray or bookshelf and you can freely go and get the colors you need, but it was a bit inconvenient to have to ask for new colors every time. Also, they do not give you water cups (or water) for the brushes. So as you paint, the paint brushes can get very dry. But the lady working here was very nice and took time to explain everything to the customers who came in. The ceramics are baked(?) overnight as well, so you can pick your artwork up the next day. They also provide shipping for Canada ($5) and the US ($25) in case you can't come pick it up. If you've never tried making your own pottery, this would be a fun experience for family and friends (also a great souvenir!).

I've always wanted to try a paint-your-own pottery place out, so this place was perfect. My boyfriend and I came in around 2:30pm, and browsed around the shop to see what piece we wanted to paint. Prices were listed under each piece, and varies depending on what piece you choose, but I wouldn't say it's too expensive considering that you get the piece to take home, and covers the cost of glaze and firing. I chose a unicorn bank and it was $30+tax. The girl that was working was SUPER helpful and patient, and got us set up and gave advice on how we could paint our pieces according to what kind of look we wanted to achieve. Colours and materials are plentiful here, although I feel they should provide some finer brushes to help with painting crevices and smaller details. Paints are not self-serve - let the staff know which colours you need and they are more than happy to pour it into a palette for you. What I really appreciated was that we did not feel rushed at all while painting our pieces - the girl stayed back for us so that I could finish painting my piece and was very patient. Final overglaze is done by them, and then fired and ready to be picked up the next day. Shipping for an additional fee is also an option if you're unable to pick up in person.
