There is a large car park which always has spaces when i have been there. Be careful with kids as there are some steep drops. There is also an old quarry which is interesting to view although you cant get to it and its hard to see. I have nevr been to the hotel though.

Most noticeably the Smeaton's Tower which is the upper portion of John Smeaton's Eddystone Lighthouse, which was originally built on the Eddystone Rocks (22.5 km south) in 1759. It was dismantled in 1877 and moved, stone by stone, to the Hoe where it was re-erected. Tinside Pool is a unique 1935 Art Deco lido, outdoor swimming pool for the public to enjoy from June to end of September. Local festivities and carnivals also held in the Park during summer. Plymouth Hoe is where the locals and visitors all have a great time!

As it is run by the National Trust, the entry fee is quite high, but the money does go towards the proper upkeep of the house and grounds. Wander around the gardens, and you will also see a range of different bird species, which are resident here. The house is interesting, with the most spectacular room being the green salon at the front of the house, and there are volunteers about, who will be happy to tell you about its history. Unfortunately, you are not allowed to take your camera inside. There is also a reasonably priced café near the entrance, which serve good lunch and afternoon tea.

The walk round can take about 45 minutes depending on the route you take and you pass a mini beach, beautiful woodland, marsh and a folly. The route is very quite, you get a few cyclists but otherwise it is very peaceful. You can see all the cars pelting down embankment road but manage to feel calm and relaxed. If you have never been it is definitly worth a visit. You can either drive here from Plymouth which is a 10 minute drive, or about a 45 minute walk from the centre.

Early Spring is the best place to see scatterings of exquisite tiny cyclamen along the central pathways and summer to pick up the scent of various beautiful shrubs. But it costs-and if you haven't got National Trust membership that's a bit of an ouch. Worth it though!

The building, inspired by the Palace Of Versailles, is open to the public to visit, and is well worth a few hours on a day out. The building is set in 17 acres of gardens, which include tennis courts, a small maze, formal Italian-style gardens and grotto gardens with waterfalls and hidden flights of steps between levels. A great place to spend a few hours. Take a camera!

The house is interesting-if not the best local NT property. But staff are loyal and love the place and the Italian Garden , tucked just behind the house,is one of the most peaceful spots in Plymouth. Austen fans will know that it's worth seeing as the location for Emma Thompson's 'Sense and Sensibility' -you can even touch the tree where Margaret built her tree house!

It's a big place with three room, quite spacious for 4 of us and I think families with kids will enjoy it a lot. There are lots of trails near by which takes you by the coast of English channel with breath taking ocean and countryside views that everyone who visits London must experience at least once in their lifetime. Few things to keep in mind: Wifi is bad and it's hard to find the password. Clue: look behind the router. There are tons of snails. So keep the house doors and windows always closed. If you are going during a foggy time, be prepared to hear fog warning horn go off almost the whole night. (They provide ear plugs) Parking next to the cottage is not advised. So, park before you enter the narrow road to the lighthouse. It's a decent walk. So keep in mind about old ppl who can't walk. The kitchen is not stocked. However, of you book via rural retreats, they give you complimentary package which has basic stuff. However, id recommend shopping at the nearest tesco in kingsbridge.
