Star Wars Day at the park

Beautiful day, diverse food kiosks fr meat lovers, vegetarians and children, while i feel we need more fan engagement during the game and between the iinnings... the ball has stepped up from years past.

Nationals Park is not just a great MLB ballpark experience, but a great professional sports stadium experience. Located along the Anacostia River in Navy Yard, it is one of the more functional and accessible MLB stadiums with ramps and elevators. Nationals Park is the first major professional stadiums in the country to earn LEED Silver Certified status by the U.S. Green Building Council, having incorporated sustainable design elements. The stadium is beautiful, however, doesn't have the historic charm that some of the other stadiums in the league have. There is obviously plenty seating and even better, open standing room to watch the game. You'll find customer-friendly stands serving traditional ballpark food, unattended and cashless grab and pay vendors, bars, and restaurants. Surrounding the ballpark is a plethora of sports bars, restaurants, and pre-game social venues. The team's merchandise store is adequate and staff, friendly. During the spring, you can find cherry trees in peak bloom in many of the standing room areas around the park, adding a beautiful backdrop and scenery to spring games. The park is highly accessible by many roads, connecting all quadrants of the city, Northern Virginia, and Prince George's County, MD. However, parking is limited and on game day and special events, the price to park taxes the wallet. I recommend using Metro which gets you close to the ballpark, including nearby Navy Yard - Ballpark Station which gets you the closest and within steps from the one of the entrances to the ballpark on Half Street. This Metro stop gets crowded because of its proximity to the ballpark. If you have time for a walk, consider exiting the station at New Jersey Avenue or to skip the madness entirely, consider riding to Southwest Waterfront Metro and walking over, crossing South Capitol Street.

Beautiful weather build for a day at Nats stadium for the beerfest. Wonderful array of brews available for tasting with food trucks to feed the alcohol. Plenty of parking adjacent to the stadium made it really convenient to enjoy the venue without having to walk a mile for the camel

Reminded me of a fancy spring training facility. The location though is good with lots of pre-game drinking options. Inside the park is good views, all the usual foods and some nice bourbon and lemonade drinks.

Nationals Park always knocks it out the park! I especially love their kid friendliness & bike parking garage! We like to bike to the games in the summer & usually spend a good amount of time at the Kids Fun Zone. Did I mention that kids eat free here?! Go Nats!

I really like this stadium. Coming from the NYC area home to Yankees stadium and citi field I find both overwhelming labyrinths that I have to take a deep breath before entering. Here, I feel smaller city comfort with a minor league stadium feel (not in a bad way, concessions are still very much MLB prices). My only gripes are if you sit under the scoreboard you can't see much else but the field and the bathrooms were a bit yucky. The employees are super friendly and helpful.

Great day at the stadium. It was little on the chilly side, but what can you do its early spring...Nats.. Here's free Nationals Pull overs!! They were handing out to every at the gates as the walked in. Also on Tuesday hot dogs are only 5 bucks!! It really helps out for all of us that like to eat a dog an inning.

This ball park is really nice from the outside of the building to the great seating views. The crowd in this stadium was very live and into the game. I also got a chance to walk around inside the stadium to see nice memorabilia and some statues about the team's history. The food and drinks were very expensive like any other ballpark. Overall had an amazing experience enjoying myself.

CHRIS BROWN BREZZY BOWL CHRIS BROWN BREZZY BOWL CHRIS BROWN BREZZY BOWL Went here for a concert and Chris Brown didn't disappoint. However this review should be about the stadium. The ease of getting in was fine. They had multiple entrances that made it no hassle on getting it. There were many food vendors and merchandise tents. There are plenty restrooms as well. Overall this is a great venue for a music concert.

So many memories here. My first game was back in 2009 when the ballpark was quite new, there were very few fans, and the team was bad. I'm a Cardinals fan first so have seen them play them in regular season and postseason often. In 2019 I enjoyed seeing them make history by sweeping the Cardinals in Game 4 of NLCS. I have been here for a Savanna Bananas game and have set anywhere from the upper decks, lower sidelines, first row behind dugout, PNC club, club level, suites to the outfield you name it (but not yet the Terra Club). The food and drink options are quite good there although beverages are pricier than most parks. Why do I rate this park 4 stars and not 5: layout is odd as some ADA sections require walking across a bridge to get to back of upper concourse, the view of Capitol has been obstructed, and most of all it lacks the strong character of other parks such as Fenway.

When visiting the city during the MLB season, one should definitely make time to catch a game. The Nationals Park is conveniently located in Naval Yard. Getting here via the metro is super convenient. Onsite parking is available at the stadium. Tickets can be bought ahead of time online at MLB.com or at the onsite ticket box office. It is located adjacent to the center field gate. Tickets can be purchased there as early as 3 hours before first pitch. If you arrive early they usually have promo giveaways like bobble heads depending on the day. The concession stands are standard with no standouts. You are allowed to bring in food as long it is carried in your hands in an approved container. Overall the Nationals Park is a fantastic park to visit.

I was in town for Breezy Bowl... First the CON: Getting to Garage C was an absolute nightmare. There were various streets blocked and the traffic was ridiculous. Luckily, I stumbled on Nationals Park IG post that had important info. and purchased a parking pass in advance because there was permit parking only. The PROS: Once I parked, we were able to enter the stadium from the lower level of the garage. There was no line at (at the entrance from the garage) all at around 7:20pm. Once we entered, there was a gentleman with an "ask me" sign which I thought was good since I'm not familiar with the venue. There were a it of staff walking around to assist if needed. The restroom on the upper level was clean and had paper towels and tissue paper at the time I went in there. There were multiple vendors selling food and drinks as well as selling Chris Brown merchandise.

It's been a while since I've been to Nats stadium. I came most recently for the Saturday night Savannah bananas show which was a 10 out of 10 experience!! All baseball games should have dancing. I think the stadium itself is absolutely gorgeous. I love the views of the Potomac and of downtown DC. That being said, with the food and drink prices the way that they are, visiting the stadium for me is a once a year activity at most. I spent almost $100 on a burger, fries, a bottle of water, and a cocktail. I get that stadium prices are outside the norm but it really feels like the prices have gone through the roof in recent years. They also don't have a great system for getting folks out after the game is over.

Ask the Community - Nationals Park

What outside food items are allowed inside of the park?

Yes outside food s allowed, but no aluminum or glass cans, only plastic water bottles. All food and other items have to fit into a small clear plastic bag about 7" x 10" The dimensions are on the Nationals site.

Are the seats small? We are a large family and don't want to be too squished?

The seats are pretty standard compared to other stadiums. If you have been to a baseball park, then you have a general idea of their size. We were a party of 6 and didn't have any issues.

Can concession credits be used for alcohol?

Yes, you can use it for alcohol.

The only tickets we could get for the Nats vs Cubs play offs we're labeled foul pole. Will we be able to see anything?

I've sat near the left field foul pole, it can get in the way for certain plays.

Making your way here was fantastic while using the Metro. Getting in here was a breeze too. But, if I may, use any other entrance than Entrance A. The other entrances are way easier to get into and virtually no lines. Getting to your seats here are really easy as well, just follow the signs and you will be there quite fast. However, there are a lot of people that cannot decipher where the sections are. I had a few people try to say I was in their seat when I was not. They were the next section over. The one thing I would have liked to have known was that there was a second level right near my section instead of having to climb those steep steps. But the view, my god the view at this place is amazing. Seeing the Washington Monument over the jumbo screen was amazing. I do have to say, there is definitely not a bad seat in this stadium. Perfect view of the field and, if you are like me, a great place to disassociate. I caught myself staring off into the DC sky a lot while here. That view also lends to how a goal celebration happens here. Over the scoreboard there will be fireworks that shoot out in a 'W' formation with the DC skyline behind it. And when there is a goal, this place comes more alive than it already is. I really enjoyed myself here while watching the game. It was a great stadium to take in a game, and one I hope to come back to time and time again.

September 21st 2025…read more This place is so disorganized and disappointing. My father called ahead of time since him and I are both disabled (we both have handicap placards and my father has a permanent disabled license plate) He finally got ahold of someone and they said if we want handicap parking up close get the gold parking pass. I paid 200 dollars for parking. Yes, 200. Parking up close is VERY important to me.. Nobody was helpful in guiding us to the lot we paid 200 dollars for. Also, they told us when we got there there's no handicap places, we just have to go and sit on a blue bench and call a number for a golf cart to pick us up. I called the number 3 times and somebody did answer. They were nice but not helpful. We ended up having to give up and walk. No workers were helpful, and when we would try to flag down other workers on golf carts they would not stop for us. They did not even look at us The stadium is very outdated. It looks extremely industrial and not welcoming Very crowded Lines were long There definitely was not enough bathrooms or food areas to keep up with all the people it can hold However, I did enjoy the seats we had. I liked the view. And the field looks great. I will say, the bathrooms for the MOST part were clean for over 50 thousand people being there. I did see a toilet overflowing onto the ground though. But workers were taking care of it This stadium needs a huge update. Do not waste 200 on up close parking. It wasn't even that up close and nobody came and picked us up despite us calling and waiting for 43 minutes (the game had already started while we were waiting) Again, I do have to hand it to the woman on the phone who kept answering. It wasn't her fault and at least she answered. So, if you are disabled and can't walk far, plan accordingly Every stadium is different So always check their bag rules. DC United has been one of the most successful clubs in MLS to date. In terms of total MLS Cups won,…read moreDC is currently second (4 championships), trailing only the LA Galaxy (5). DC United is tied with the LA Galaxy for the most Supporters' Shields won (4 each; most seasons with best regular season record). They've also won three US Open Cups (second-most in the league) and are the only MLS team to have won either the CONCACAF Champions League and the Copa Interamericana championship. So, when it comes to Major League Soccer, this is what you call a historically elite team. DC United was one of the original 10 teams to begin MLS play in the league's inaugural season in 1996. They had success right out the gate, winning the MLS Cup in 1996, 1997, and 1999. The team carried that success into the 2000s, but aside from their 2013 US Open Cup win (where they were underdogs), they haven't won anything of consequence since. A couple of the most well-known players and coaches from DC United include Bolivian forward Jaime Moreno and American midfielder and coach Ben Olsen. Moreno and Olsen were teammates on the 1999 and 2004 MLS Cup championship teams. Moreno has gone on to set club records in many statistical categories including most appearances (427) and goals scored (162). No other DC United player has come close. The season immediately after his last as a player (2009), Olsen took the reins as head coach in 2010 after the firing of Curt Onalfo. Olsen went on to coach DC United for an entire decade (2010-2020), by far the longest tenure of any club coach. For the first 22 seasons, DC United played in the old RFK Stadium (opened 1961) which was used for a variety of sporting events including Washington Redskins (NFL), Washington Nationals (MLB), and Military Bowl (NCAA Division I FBS) games. The team has played at Audi Field since its opening in 2018. Audi Field, which was built specifically for DC United, is located about 10-15 minutes (5-6 miles) away from the old stadium, down the Anacostia River. In its final years as home to DC United, RFK was configured to seat 20,000 for MLS games, same as Audi Field.

I did not grab any food or drinks, so I cannot speak to pricing or options, but one thing I will say is avoid the bathroom lines during intermission if you can. They get very long. Try to go right before the show, after, or sneak away at a less obvious time if possible. As for the show itself, I loved it. I was seated in the very last row at the top and still had a clear view, which says a lot about the layout.
