About an hour later I got a call from Travis informing me that my phone was 'ready for pickup'; upon arrival he told me there was a problem and the back panel of my screen was cracked. We spent the next hour on the phone with Assurant who only offered to replace my phone for $95 plus tax but Batteries Plus could offer no remediation until the manager Mika was available the next day. Travis cancelled my claim and I went home to process payment for replacement phone with Assurant for a total of $105 after spending an hour on the phone trying to get an answer as to why Assurant and Batteries Plus does not have a process for handling such cases (damages by technicians). I was basically left on my own to find a solution or try to recover the out of pocket money from Batteris Plus. Next morning, I got a call from Mika at Batteries Plus who offered to replace the back panel. However, I already processed a claim and my replacement phone is scheduled to arrive today. Mika told me "life happens" he didn't apologize for the damage caused at his store, by his tecnician and did not offer to assume any financial responsibility for the $105 that I had to pay. Overall, a bad experience at this location and I would not trust them with anything.
