I was pleasantly amazed to find that In Norfolk there are banks a-plenty with many retaining their village locations. The staff in the Halifax branch at Wymondham (situated at the rear of warners financial services) are pleasant, friendly, and nothing is too much trouble for them at all. Besides the appointment times, Laura, the lady that helped me open the account was not just friendly, but she explained everything very thoroughly and answered my questions. The whole process did not take very long and when that was finished I asked about how to wire money from my account in the U.S. to this account. She wrote everything down for me and explained the process to me. Glad she did because I ended up having to tell my credit union how the process worked because they kept insisting that I wasn't giving them the correct information. Since then, I have been very happy with my account (I don't use it very often), but I find it convenient to get money, pay in, use the card to book things that cannot be booked with an American card.

It is usually clean and tidy, despite the occasional pidgeon managing to make the bank its home. This bank is full of machines and only has 3 counters for customers to deal with actual people, of which quite often only 1 is open. The bank regularly runs out of change and is unable to provide the service we pay for as a business.

I have only used this store once as my husband banks with Barclays Bank. After depositing some money in via the counter, my husband found a few days later that there was no trace of the money. He rang Barclays but they insisted we had to waste our time and go down to the actual branch again. Their manager spent a good half hour trying to locate the 'missing money' whilst we sat and waited. He eventually agreed it had been 'lost in the system' whatever that means. They never even issued us with an apology, very poor service.

There are a few cash machines on the outside and inside which don't have much of a queue for. This branch also has the machines that allows you to check your balances and to make online payments which can help avoid a queue. There is a helpdesk at the front for queries which can be sorted there or pass you on to someone who can help. The staff are friendly enough and will try to help, if there is a long queue someone normally will ask what transaction people want to do and show them an alternative way to stop them from queuing. The counter staff are friendly and normally cheerful and will deal with your transactions swiftly and effectively whilst not making you feel rushed either

It is a corner unit and is pretty small but they make good use of the little space available. The windows display plenty of information about the services they offer and there are some very good deals on - as always expected from an organisation that isn't pandering to the shareholders. Inside is well laid out and the staff are really nice and helpful. They are always welcoming and will engage in a little chat while dealing with you. If you need any assistance or information regarding products on offer there is always someone available that can help. The products they do have are far superior to those offered by the majority of the banks. Highly recommended.
