Baltimore Equitable is an amazing insurer. I used their policy when I lived in Baltimore. It is…read moresuch an amazing benefit to be able to obtain insurance through a refundable deposit. I also thankfully had the water backup policy provision, which was involved in the only ever claim I had as an insured. A pipe split in my basement from freezing temperatures and construction on an adjoining neighbors house, causing a bit of water damage to things in the basement and a need for it to be replaced. It was covered under the policy and Baltimore Equitable was easy to work with for the reimbursement. I received a full refund of my premium deposit after I sold my house and moved out of Maryland. I highly recommend their policies. They will inspect your house before initially starting a policy as any prudent insurer should. They will from time to time require additional deposits to maintain coverage based on estimated replacement costs. While this may seem excessive at times, the comparative savings from an ever increasing annual premium there competitors charge, which is not refundable, makes the extra deposit seem entirely acceptable. I am very grateful for being able to have had their insurance.
