Dishonest people. They charged me for an order and then took a 6 week break "to let people and plants rest" before shipping my order. They ignored multiple requests for a refund they're obligated to give according to FTC consumer protection rules for online orders. After my third email letting them know I was filing a fraud complaint, they overnight shipped the order I cancelled and asked for a refund due to exceeding 30 days since the order. Now their plants are sitting on the curb while I proceed with the complaint and dispute the charges. Absolute scumbags. read more

The customer service was exemplary, fast, responsive, and most knowledgeable about plants. The plants received were healthy, and the packaging was of particular note. In that packaging, the plants were very carefully wrapped in biodegradable materials, and were received both promptly but also without any damage. read more

If they will ever answer my 3 emails and 2 phone calls to replace my black huckleberry plants that came so beaten up due to lack of support in packaging. I've heard nothing the last three months of trying to get replacements. They say they appreciate buisness and you making the world greener but ya can't if the plants come dead. I would LOVE to recommend this nursery but I CAN'T! I was so excited to order plants that after I entered my order for new plants, I placed another order the next day. It's been all bad news since then. 11 days later I've been charged two hundred+ dollars and the plants haven't shipped and there's been no communication or replies to my emails or phone calls for the past 9 days. I ordered $201.39 cents worth of plants on 6/25/25. I ordered 4 Salmonberry, 2 blackcap raspberry and 2 pacific blackberry all in 1 gallon pots. Upon ordering there was a notice that I should expect a 3 week wait prior to shipping, which h was fine because I didn't want them shipped until at least mid July which I noted in the order. I contacted them via their website/messages on 7/17/25, 7/19/25, and 7/24/25 with no response. I also tried calling on 7/19 and left a message with no reply or response. The plants arrived today. The black cap raspberries are TINY (7 inches from soil to top of the plant), and one of them is crispy dead. The Salmon berries are all approximately half dead with at least half of the leaves dry, brown, and curled up. They all also show signs of pest damage to the leaves. The 2 blackberries actually appear to have survived and we will follow the given directions and hope for their survival. I would absolutely not recommend buying from this business due to their product as well as their business practices. read more

I ordered some Ceanothus plants in late October, 2023. I wanted large plants. I did not know when they would be shipped, but requested shipping as soon as they were available. I worried a bit about what I would actually receive and when. In early February I received notice that my plants were ready. Native Foods sent me photos. The plants looked great. Two days later I received the plants. They were cleverly packaged and arrived in fine shape. No damage at all. I now have total trust in these honest and honorable people. Outstanding! These were the healthiest and most well-packaged plants I have EVER received. We ordered plants from a different company last year which was an awful experience, they all arrived months after they were ordered, mostly dead, free-floating in a bag, and dry as a bone. So seeing what we received from Native Foods Nursery was a stark contrast to our last experience. We ordered two replacement bushes (for our bushes that died last year during a heatwave), a strawberry plant, a grapevine, and a fern. It took exactly how long the site said it would to ship (down to the day) and once shipped everything arrived within 48 hours. When we opened the box all the plants were neatly puzzle pieced together in such a way no two plants were crowded, not a single brown leaf in sight, and each base was neatly taped up and stapled securely to the box. I think UPS could have drop-kicked this box from the roof and each plant STILL would have arrived in perfect condition. The only feedback I have is more please, more variety, maybe some non-edible plants as well... just stock everything and triple your company size cuz really if I could buy all my plants forever from this nursery... I ordered in June 2021. I received in Late September 2021. I planted same day. These were bare root twigs. So all through March 2022 I looked for signs of life. One of my twigs was looking good the other twig was not. So I wrote NFN to inform them that one was not living. They immediately wrote back and said that I have them "so long" there was nothing they would do. So when I replied to the "so long" remark they wrote back that they only stand behind their plants 3 months. So since mine did not leaf and show signs of life in the depths of winter too bad so sad You might want to know this before wasting you money read more

The HoneyBerry bushes I ordered arrived in a box or I should say the dirt and plants were all over the inside of the box. It looked like these had been well watered and the water soaked the tape. What a mess! I have made phone calls and took pictures and sent to them. I have heard nothing from this company. I have re-potted the bushes and they may live. I will never do business with this company again. I ordered two sets of bushes from two companies. Lets just say the shipping and plants from the other company look great and were shipped much better. read more

I ordered 2 plants. They arrived very quickly, but one only lasted a few days. I messaged them and they immediately sent out a new beautiful replacement. Both plants are very healthy and thriving. Great products, but shipping and packaging is a huge challenge. I have been sent a very large order, last March, when there was still snow on the ground where I am in WA and they would not hold onto the order longer, so a few days later the snow melted, we planted many bulbs and lupines, we saw one or 2 glacier lilies, but nothing survived. Even the Riverbank Lupine, which bloomed and were so beautiful died over the winter. I had even bought a consult to make sure I was thinking along the right lines. I have purchased a few other items other times which worked out better - the evergreen huckleberry and golden currants are thriving. This year I just received an order which we unpackaged and planted. Talk about torture to get to the plants and not hurt them in the process. My husband pulled out the staples, and even for him it was not easy. The amount of packaging tape taping in the lupines with their fragile little aerial parts sticking out was outrageous. It took some serious patience and determination. I did get them out after painstaking careful cutting, and they are in the ground. I would recommend that this company look at the packaging from Bluestone Perennials. It's a dream - no staples, no difficult packaging tape, just recyclable cardboard, cut and folded so that the plants stay in. As it stands, I am not sure I will order from Native Foods again, but if I do they will be gallon containers that are not plantable - these were the easiest to deal with. I do find their prices to be high so it is always better to buy a lot and achieve the 20% discount if you can. read more

Native Food Nursery delivered FANTASTIC products. Not only do they have a wonderful selection of native plants, but they are in perfect condition - even after being shipped. Their packaging and pots are made of compostable products, and packaged beautifully and securely. I am incredibly impressed by how beautiful the plants were upon arrival and how the company used canvas and newspaper and eco pots. Truly impressed.
