I was new to colonics when I visited Maureen for the first time, so I brought a certain level of anxiety along, not knowing what to expect. I had done coffee enemas at home, but after catching a stomach bug on a United Airlines flight, the enemas and my aloe vera extract weren't cutting it. I needed some serious internal cleansing. Maureen took her time with the initial consultation, going over my health concerns and nutritional habits. She also thoroughly explained the procedure and apparatus before we started. The office environment is very relaxing and spa-like, with essential oil diffusers and soothing music. Everything is spick and span clean, and I never feel rushed. You undress from the waist down and insert the small tube yourself, then you are completely covered in a sheet and blanket, so it is very discreet. You also get a pair of plush socks and a heating pad for your belly. The colonic irrigation system is completely closed, everything comes out through a clear tube into a sewer tank. The procedure takes about 45 minutes to an hour, and you are left alone most of the time to relax and read a magazine. You do get a gentle belly massage to help release some of that built up stuff in your colon. My first time was pretty rough with a lot of cramping and pain. Maureen was amazing, telling me to breathe deeply and massaging pressure points on my feet. I felt like I was giving birth! I also got some great advice on home remedies to keep me regular that I hadn't tried, and believe me, I thought I heard and read about them all. I bought some organic triphala on Amazon the next day! There was never pressure to buy any supplements from her. I feel like Maureen truly cares about improving your health, rather than selling you on her services. I highly recommend her. read more

Before I visited Natural Health and Wellness, I was in and out of the doctor's office. I had cyclical vomiting and was losing massive amounts of weight with severe ulcers in my stomach. No one could figure out what was wrong with me. I was so frustrated. All I wanted was to be healthy and I was getting no answers from the docs. Later I found out that I was diagnosed with H. Pylori and peptic ulcers. My older brother has been getting colonics for quite some time now. He recommended me to Natural Health and Wellness. I can't speak for everyone, but I lost 5 pounds my first time! I am not a big guy, I'm 5'10 and was 121 pounds before going in. When I left, I was 116 pounds. I'd researched colonics and found Maureen on Yelp. I'm so happy that I met her. She's a wealth of valuable knowledge, and by nature a "healer". Have you ever spent a small amount of time with someone and walked off feeling re-energized and happy? When I leave Maureen I feel like I have a new glow of positive energy and it's infectious.. Once you meet her, you'll know what I mean. I'm 40 years old, fairly healthy, exercise with a trainer 5 days per week, eat healthy; gluten free, whole foods and I know that mental health is just as important. In October 2015, within a month, I'd lost over half of my hair, I was breaking out, I had dark circles under my eyes and I was battling constant bloating. The bloating I've actually been battling for 25 years, I was constantly bloated and starving myself to make the bloat go away. Now, I eat EVERYTHING I want and I'm loving life- not staying home in bed because I can't fit into my favorite outfits. And that's only the one aspect of my new health, thank you to Maureen.
