Read a few good reviews on sod purchases from here. Went on Saturday morning after opening time. Needed zoysia sod. My first question was "do you sell sod by the piece?" Answer was "no". Not, "how many pieces are you needing?" My next question was "well, how much is a pallet?" Answer was "$350ish". But not "can I get you a pallet ordered?" I then asked "how much for a half pallet?" And answer was "$200+?" But no follow up "can I get you a half pallet of sod?" My next question was "will a half pallet of sod fit in my truck?" And the answer was "we don't have it, that's a special order." Not "sure, can I get you half pallet, when do you want it?" He was busy surfing the internet. I gave up. Went to Lowe's on Perkins and got decent sod at a reasonable price. Just saying these folks are not interested in selling sod. Boo! read more

I purchased eight yards of the garden mix about a year ago. Unfortunately, I think the dump truck came directly from the dump. The mix was ~70% adequate compost, ~15% clay clogs, and ~15% trash, rocks, and chunks of concrete (some as big as my fist). I have spent hours sifting through the soil and hundreds more dollars amending it. I am still pulling out large chunks of rock and concrete, but I think the plants might actually grow this year. I had inspected the mix on site before ordering and what they sent me was a far cry from what I had seen or what was advertised on their website. Maybe they sent me the special South Memphis mix. You might get better product if you live in a whiter Memphis neighborhood, but I wouldn't risk it. read more

Natures Earth is unprofessional and down right is an awful place for any of your landscaping needs. They do not care about their employee's safety or the safety of their customers. I have witnessed the owner talk to the employees with the most disrespect. They have no respect for their customers and talk to their customers like dirt. The owner and the management are rude and downright arrogant. They get mad at the employees if they go above and beyond to help a customer to make sure the customer is happy. I mean if it was not for the customer there would be no business so you would think the management would appreciate a good worker that went above and beyond not here. read more

I generally love Nature's Earth Products. I have used them since they were a tiny place on Hwy 64, but today is a different day. I checked the price of crushed concrete on the web site and it was $30 a ton. I bought a half ton and was charged $24.95. I didn't realize it until I got home. So, moral of this story, DO NOT TRUST the web page price. Call first. Pros: Lots of products, from limestone, to fill dirt. They are efficient at loading it for you. Cons: They are a bit expensive on some of the prices. AND, CHECK before you buy. read more

Never in my 60 years have I had firewood not burn, but the load of wood that we bought from Nature's Earth Products does not. We split the logs and used firestarters, but it won't burn. We tried it in our grill and even soaked it in lighter fluid. With the lighter fluid, it burned for only a few minutes. We could not get our money back or exchange for a different load of wood, so we will chunk this and purchase elsewhere. Needless to say, we will not return to this business for anything read more

This company does not honor their commitments. I went to purchase sod. I was told they had it in stock because someone had just reneged on an order of 7 pallets. I only wanted 2 but was not prepared to pick it up. I was told if I prepay, which I did it could be picked up the following day. If you're looking for garden soil that is full of pea gravel, this is your place. It's Friday morning and I just had 5 yards of garden soil delivered. I personally went to Natures Earth Products yard to inspect it yesterday before ordering, but it is not at all like the dirt in the sample bucket they have in their office. It is advertised as being made up of leaf compost, sand and dirt. Instead I got heavy mud with lots of pea gravel. After telling me they would call me back to discuss the problem on Monday, I invited them to come take a look today. I don't know what is worse, the garden soil or the condescending customer service. The manager Justin lives in the area and made a house call. I should have known he would do nothing to fix the problem, he showed up wearing white suede shoes to inspect his product and left his car running in my driveway. He told me it would be "just fine" to use in my raised beds. He further explained how expensive white sand is and so they order cheaper red sand to mix into their garden soil and unfortunately it comes with rocks. There's nothing he can do about the rocks and gravel in the sand. When I asked why it was so muddy, he told me it was flooding in Mississippi. (This product came from Memphis, Tennessee). read more

If you're looking for compost or pro-mix, you can do better. I bought a yard of pro-mix about a month ago, and have been very disappointed. Things I found in my pro-mix: 1) Glass. Lots of little shards of glass. In my garden bed 2) Bottle caps, strips of plastic bag, and other plastic detritus 3) Weeds. Primarily dandelion and monkey grass. I called in and spoke to a very friendly supervisor there who apologized profusely, but contended that there is "no such thing" as weed-free compost. Fortunately, there is. Bad place to buy Bermuda sod! The grass was too dry and yellow, practically half dead. Sod layers were rooted into each other which indicate that this sod was seating on the pallet for over a week. The joke is that sales person told me that the sod is delivered daily and always fresh. On the top they will force you to sing a waiver if your sod will not grow or die it is your fault! So, you can spend $136 at this store for a pallet of over dried half dead sod or go to sod farm and for $70 buy a fresh cut Bermuda. read more

We had 2 Tons of medium Gravel and 2 Tons of sand delivered. They were very helpful every time we called with questions and to get prices. They were at our house about 20 minutes after they called to make sure we were ready for the delivery. We will definitely use them for all our yard projects. read more

I called and ordered ten tons of gravel and explained to the girl on the phone that I wanted it delivered and dumped by a truck as they drove away, thus partially spreading the gravel for my driveway. She knew what I was talking about and agreed to do it. When the gravel arrived, two days later, it was on a flat bed that couldn't drop it the way I wanted. I refused the load, because it wasn't delivered as we had agreed. I requested that they bring it back in a dump truck and deliver the way I wanted. They wanted to charge me a second delivery fee for their mistake. I told them to keep their gravel. They had my credit card and charged me for a delivery fee. Which was later not paid by my card company. The owner of the business refused to live with the mistake they had made and said no one would take my business and threatened to tell all the other companies in his business to not deliver to me. That same day, I called the Sandman and had my gravel delivered the way I wanted within a couple of hours. I am very happy with my new drive. Call the Sandman, not Brown. read more

If you need dirt, mulch, promix, (all types and grades), you should go to Nature's Earth Products. They sell by the yard, so you don't spend unneeded money on packaging. Of course, you have to have a truck. They load up a yard of dirt, or two yards or mulch, on your truck, and you are on your way. The prices are very reasonable and they have three locations, so it is convenient as well. It is far superior to buying bags at a retail store. read more

I ordered the product suggested for planting fescue grass seed (sifted dirt), and what was delivered was large clumps of hard clay soil. I still was hopeful that they knew what they were talking about, so I set about spreading over my front yard, tilled, spent lots of time breaking up the large clumps, spread my grass seed, watered diligently (I've been successful growing fescue in the past), then watched as my front yard turned into first a mud patch with rain, then a hardened (cracks and all) wasteland of dirt. Ugh. Will go back to using the pro-mix used in the past from bags. I strictly ordered what they suggested (on website and from talking with them in person), and this was definitely NOT the product to use. I had ordered mulch and pea gravel from Nature's Earth and was very satisfied; therefore, when I needed mulch last spring I stopped by Nature's Earth and ordered a truckload. The mulch did not hold up through the summer. The quality of the mulch was awful. In addition to the quality of the mulch, when the mulch was delivered, I asked the driver to back to the curb but he proceeded into the yard, getting stuck. He mired down into the yard and quickly handed me a form to sign. Don't sign any form if you're dealing with Nature's Earth because the smart assed owner or whoever came out to help the driver said I would have had to pay for the towing and the time involved. I couldn't believe they screwed up and we're going to charge me even more. The guy was successful in getting the truck pulled out of my yard, but after my experience the only reason they got one star is because you can't submit the review with no stars. Stay away from Nature's Earth because both the quality and service are awful. read more

I bought sod & it smelled rotten when I rolled it out & it is now mostly dead grass. I called them after I put sod out & told them about the odor & that I thought the sod was to wet for to long. They said that they had other calls & they contacted supplier who said that it would be fine. They did not offer any type of refund/replacement .
