Visiting Memphis!Wow! What an amazing place. Knowing my love for plants and design my bff took me to Millstone. I wondered the property in awe as everything is spectacular. If you love design, plants and unique findings stop in to Millstone Market! It's amazing

Another local nursery I was excited to visit. The grounds look amazing. Their inventory is a plant lovers dream. I was so happy to see how well cared for the plants are. I despise visiting places with neglected plants. You don't have to worry about that with Millstone. I will definitely add then to my list of top nurseries .

Will never shop here again! I walked in, asked for a specific plant that was listed on Millstone Markets instagram, and showed them the specific post. They told me "we don't have anymore" ok, that's fine. I turned around and saw a table full of that plant. Picked one up, checked out. It was $50. - I paid it. Next stop Home Depot for dirt. SAME PLANT but way bigger and healthier for $14. Not only did I WAY over spend, but the service was TERRIBLE. Here's a picture of the plants. The right was from Millstone

Herb boxes they helped me plant (the ones that they plant themselves look even better, but almost every herb I could want!)

Millstone Market is the best place in Memphis for gardening needs/advice - hands down! The family who owns the business is super knowledgeable, kind and helpful. They patiently walked me through planting four large planters myself - special ordering herbs, working with my timeline and showing me the ropes of potting for the Memphis weather. They have an awesome selection of plants, trees, pots and garden decorations, etc. The prices are mostly on par with the big box retailers like Lowes, etc. Plus the grounds are gorgeous! A must visit in East Memphis!

My new favorite Memphis gift shop is no exception. Nest manages to cram a well-organized and thoughtful stock of housewares, gifts, baby items, jewelry and dishes into their tiny Germantown space. The building, which looks more like a wee cabin than a storefront is only 12 feet by 16 feet. Inside, though, gift items (many of them appropriately tiny) are arranged floor to ceiling. Be sure to look down - some very cool things are hiding on low shelves. What I liked most about Nest is that because of the space's size, everything in the shop seems like it was stocked with intention - there's aren't any items that don't belong. I loved the tiny spoons, vintage silverware bundles, shabby chic textiles and selection of cute necklaces (that range in price from crazy reasonable to fairly high end). And despite it's size, Nest is the sort of place that would probably have a gift for even the pickiest people. Next time I need something for my mom or a hard-to-buy-for lady friend, this is where I'm going. A word of warning before you head to Nest: it's really hard to find on Google Maps alone. The easiest way to get there is to head east on Poplar (towards Germantown). Turn right into The Market at Poplar Estates - it sort of looks like a garden center. Keep going once you turn in, and Nest will be on your left.

And in a world where most people just email or send a Facebook message, finding a piece of fun mail is even more special. This is why I love Mrs. Post. Mrs. Post is a brand new stationery and gift store in East Memphis. And while you're grandma will be excited to receive one of their cute letterpress cards from you, there's nothing stuffy about the shop. Before they opened Mrs. Post, owners Lindsey Cross and Natalie Ellis-Chang designed a line of wholesale paper products called Lemon Tree Paper. They've got about 400 pieces, and each one is printed locally. All of the Lemon Tree Paper invitations, cards, and notes are available at Mrs. Post. My favorite thing about the shop was the small, but well thought out collection of gifts. There's a lot of whimsy in a small space. I was totally smitten with the Jonathan Adler whale shaped salt and pepper shakers and the surprise balls (the package reads "to enjoy, please destroy"). They've also got candles, baby booties and party decorations you'll want to leave up well after the fun is over.

They have absolutely beautiful stationary and invitations...as well as a few baby items. Everything is well made so even the snootiest of people will approve of these gifts.
