Even though I haven't been back to NM since then, I order from here online and have it shipped every six months or so. I've tried lots of other artisanal or locally made soaps but none are as nice as these. They are gentler on your skin than commercial soaps, smell less synthetic than the stuff you find at a B&BW or Lush, and the prices are similar anyway. Anyway, the honey oatmeal soap is really heavenly. I love all the citrus scents. Pine tar is very good on my eczematic skin. And the salsa soaps they have periodically are nostalgic.

Bedspreads were cut down to fit queen size beds, pillows were made with the excess. Alterations were done in a timely manner with good craftsmanship. It's one of those shops that has so many options, you have to really slow down and look at each individual corner upon the layers of items. This last incident was completely unacceptable in terms of her dismissiveness towards me; I called about a specific piece I had been looking to buy, and it was available. I told her I would be right over and when I got there less than 20 minutes later, she sold it. Her response was she didn't want to take it out of the hands of a person who came in and bought it after our phone call. There are many ways she could have handled this but the complete disregard she had for me and my time as a return client is not okay. I suspect racism as she and the woman she sold the item to are both white and I am not.

When I first walked in with my family in tow after spending some time at the local farmers market, I felt a bit intimidated and expected the people working there to be snobby or ignore me, but this was not the case at all. I went to the back room where they had some pricey jewelry in locked cases, and there were some other shoppers in there was well; an employee (or possible co-owner?) let the customers know she could open the cases should anyone want to take a closer look. I was offered a small cup of hot chai tea while I shopped that was so incredibly delicious, I had to buy a box to take home with me. My family sat on some of the plush chairs while I walked around and took some photos. At the front counter there was a bowl of one-word affirmation cards, and I asked the gentleman who worked there, who ended up being the owner, how this works. He said to take three cards out of the bowl to set my intention and then return them to the bowl so others could share in this delightful practice. The man was beautiful inside and out, and I think the woman who was there (also beautiful) may have been the co-owner. The man offered my 10-year-old son to select three cards, and the woman offered my son a cup of cold water to drink. She also complimented my outfit. They were so gracious and kind! I noticed another customer choosing furniture and other furnishings for her home and I asked her a few questions and we chatted for a moment. How lucky is she to be able to shop this store to decorate her second home! I am considering calling the store to see if that crystal I had my eye on is still available to purchase and ship. I felt that even though these were gorgeous, high-end pieces, they were not overpriced. If you are looking to add some spirituality and beauty to your home, go to this store.
