    Tandoori Roti, super oily.
    Leyang Z.

Had one lunch there. Pretty disappointing. I ordered roti and fish curry. Total was about $20 which was really not worthwhile. The fish curry contained only 4-5 spoon-size pieces of fish, with little onion, tomato or other veggie. Luckily the taste was Okay and this curry dish was served with a large bowl of rice. For the roti, it was very small and thin, and worst of all it was way too oily so I only ate a little of it. There was also a free appetizer, something like crispy Naan with green sauce. The sauce was put in some plastic container which really contradicts the well-decorated environment of this restaurant. Service was also minimal, except that the stuff kept asking me whether I want some dessert. I had repeated several time I did not want it... So the only good things seemed to be: the curry dish tasted not bad and the restaurant had a clean, modern inside. Not very likely to go there again. I can get much more food with better qualities and better service in other Indian restaurants in C-U area (e.g. those in downtown Champaign)

    Chicken Biryani

The interior of the restaurant is very nice with the beautiful bar. The biryani itself was a huge portion. I typically never struggle to finish my meals but this was able to become my lunch and dinner. The rice itself is extremely fragrant and the chicken itself is tender. The price itself is also very comparable to the other Indian restaurants in town. The service was okay, wished some plates were cleared and had more refills. Overall, this place is a great option for Indian food on campus.

My friend and I went there for dinner today. The ambiance is incredible inside! There's a whole wall in front of the bar with collection of wines. The sanitation conditions were pretty good! We ordered a samosa and a chicken curry, and both tasted great! The serving people there were so patient and friendly as well. A good Indian restaurant near campus to go!

Vegetarian paneer dishes and garlic naan.

This place is utterly gorgeous! But the look of it does not begin to compare to the delicious food we ate. We both ordered vegetarian paneer dishes and we shared the garlic Naan. Everything was perfect! I believe we met the owner as well, and she was extremely kind and welcoming.

The chicken curry had me ill all night and missed worked the next day. It looked off and i should not have eaten it

Hara Bara Kebab, Aloo Gobi, Garlic Naan, Jeera Rice, Malai Kofta

The place has great ambiance and a nice vibe. You want to dine in here. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The food is definitely 15-20% costlier for the area. Our aloo gobi was a mess, raw aloo and fully cooked gobi swimming in oil! They recooked it, but very bland. Malai kofta was delicious. Garlic naans were good. Yellow daal didn't work for us. I had better hara bhara kababs. All in all, an ok place for me.

Naan, Veg Samosa, Chicken Coconut Korma, Chana Masala all delicious

We found this restaurant on the way to the restaurant we were going to go but decided to go here. We were so glad we did. It was wonderful. - what a tasty selection of dishes!!! Chicken coconut karma was the best. Very creamy yummy with aromatic spices! - they greeted us with little free chips and chutney - excellent service!!! - not too pricy for college town - portion was great - beautiful Modern interior Very happy customer here!

Very friendly service from the moment we walked in. Waitress and food runners were kind and attentive. Nicely decorated. The food was delic! You are served a free appetizer right off the bat, and everything we ordered was tasty and hot. My boyfriend ordered his dish spicy and he said it wasn't as spicy as he would have liked, but besides that - no complaints!

Food is mediocre. I would avoid this place just from customer service point of view, let alone the food quality

Terrible food and even worse management not willing to be accommodating. Extremely rude staff. Do not get the Lamb Tikka Masala.

Mirsung is given representation mostly as a grocery store (at least according to its listing on…read moreYelp), but several months ago, it annexed a modest, "fast food" cafe next door to the grocery. Frankly, the purpose of my visits have been to pick up prepared lunches, not groceries, so I can't really comment on the latter. Like other Indian restaurants in town (except for the Bombay Grill on First Street), this place is mostly a greasy lunch counter for college kids. There are a few tables for anyone who wants to eat there, and while the space is brightly-lit by large shopfront windows, the decorations are sparse and uninspiring. However, don't be deterred by general criticisms on the restaurant's interior. Mirsung probably has the best deal on Indian food in Champaign. When you walk up to the front counter, you'll see a food-laden hot bar, along with a white-board listing the daily menu and prices. If you're not familiar with Indian food, this might be a good way to try it out, as you can just pick out dishes that are visually appealing to you. Each day, Mirsung serves 2 vegetarian entrees, 2 meat entrees, a special rice dish, soup, appetizers (including samosas), and DOSAS! The combination meals are around $7 to $9 (depending on whether you order meat or vegetable entrees), which is quite reasonable as your take-out containers will be bulking with food when you leave. Most of the food you receive will be rice, a contentious point for most diners (who prefer more meat for their money), but given the spiciness and richness of many Indian dishes, I usually like having more rice. If this is indeed an issue for you, I would recommend ordering the daily special rice instead of plain basmati rice, which costs $1 more per combo plate, but can easily serve as a meal by itself. I've had good experiences with the special rice dishes, including the lemon rice, tamarind rice, and chicken biryani. These rice dishes are flavored generously with spices, mustard seeds, and fresh curry leaves. I like the sauces on most of the entrees, including the chicken tikka masala, chicken vindaloo, and okra masala. The only real complaint I have regarding food is that the paneer has been a bit tough when I've had it in the past. Mirsung is located a pleasant distance from the busiest part of Green Street, which means: (1) free parking is available, and (2) you won't feel that you're trapped in some hellish war between pedestrians and traffic. Students shouldn't be discouraged from stopping by, though, as it is still an easy walk from the campus neighborhoods on First Street.

Mirsung Groceries is a great low-price option for anyone daring enough to try something new! I think many Thai places are very similar, standard noodle and curry options with the same meat choices. I found that Siam Terrace has some really neat options that I normally do not see in my local Thai spots, and they do a great job with the food as well! First and foremost, Siam Terrace does the basics correct. What I mean is that their noodles can always be an option if you need something simple. Normally I am not a Pad Thai person, I prefer the spice of the Pad See Ew instead, but I decided to get it here and it was outstanding. Noodles weren't too sticky, all the sour, sweet and salty elements were there, and it was super filling and affordable! They have so many different options, I imagine they are all fantastic! The item I ordered that I don't see often elsewhere is their duck curry. Although it is a red curry, there are enough sweet elements to balance the blaze of the curry. The duck itself is tender and flavorful and they certainly don't skimp on the amount of duck you receive! Paired with rice, it is a really great dish. Another underrated aspect of the restaurant is that it is so accommodating to various diets. They have so many vegetarian friendly options, including said duck dishes! I can always stand behind a solid restaurant that serves all!
