He was originally a recommendation from our realtors in the Bay Area, and we're glad we gave him a shot. In a nutshell, we're first time homebuyers navigating a new home and the risks associated, and we closed the day before Thanksgiving, meaning a ton of insurance agencies were out of the office on PTO, leaving us potentially uninsured. Luckily, Steven came through at the 11th hour the day before Thanksgiving and binded us to a reasonable policy to ensure we were covered. He took his time explaining the ins and outs, pitfalls, and nuances to the complex insurance world, which we really appreciated, especially at 6PM before a holiday. He's very knowledgeable but approachable, and is kind of an insurance nerd, in a good way and we feel is very rare and appreciated. Everything he sold us made sense and it was no pressure and never came off like a used car salesman. A senior citizen was trying to purchase insurance for her new condominium. She repeatedly called Randi, left multiple voicemail messages, and received little to no response. Instead of returning phone calls, communication was handled almost exclusively through email--even though it was clear the client rarely checked email and was trying to communicate by phone. Even several days after the real estate closing, there were still outstanding issues that should have been addressed much earlier. Rather than taking ownership of the process and proactively communicating with the client, it appeared that responsibility was being shifted to others while the client was left waiting for answers. When you're helping a senior citizen with something as important as homeowners insurance, responsiveness and follow-through are not optional--they are basic expectations. Unfortunately, those expectations were not met. Based on this experience, I would not recommend Greystone Insurance to anyone who values timely communication, customer service, or proactive follow-up. If you expect your calls to be returned and your concerns to be handled promptly, you may want to consider another insurance agency.
