Well, that's pretty much what happened after I started seeing Dr. Adam at Behm Muscle and Joint clinic. My sister and brother in law have been seeing Dr. Adam for awhile and now that I have insurance that covers chiropractic care I felt like I had nothing to lose when I was thinking about chiropractic care. Setting up an appointement and filling out the necessary paperwork was a breeze. The clinic website has it set up where you can fill out most of the information online and I think I may have had to sign a few things when I got there but I honestly don't remember because once I started seeing him my muscle pain went away. He starts out asking you a few questions and then determines what the best way to treat you is. At Behm Muscle & Joint I have now had my back adjusted, learned new stretches to help my shoulders and back, had dry needling done and he even scraped my muscles with this medal instrument that looks painful but it wasn't that bad. I love that Dr. Adam goes beyond just adjusting your back, he gives me exercises and stretches to do at home, reminds me how much water I need to drink every day and is always checking in to make sure I'm not feeling pain during my appointment. I have recommended him to one of my friends as well and I know she is finally feeling relief. Dr. Adam and his staff are friendly and welcoming. Because there is no question that I am getting adjusted in the exact correct area needed for my complaint. He spends the time physically touching and assessing the area to determine where the root cause of your pain is. The staff is always friendly The Bad: Still haven't found a place that hands out free pizza and drinks while you wait lol The Ugly Truth: The doc is a great guy who cares about your time. They don't over schedule here and you will be seen within a few minutes. Since the physical is only required every 3 years they are always calling a few weeks ahead of time to remind you to renew. This time the doc was the only one there and he took care of all the paperwork as well, so it seems like a well run and team oriented office. The first appointment included x-rays, one of those back scanner thingies (okay, so it is some type of thermal imager - essentially, it maps where your back is releasing heat indicating some vertebra is unhappy), that super nice electrical stimulation stuff that makes your muscles release tension, and (in my car) an adjustment. This is all pretty standard, I know. However, this is the first time I've sat down one-on-one and been asked what I hope to get out of my chiropractic treatments. What's really awesome is that those things were written down and remembered. And after about 6 months of on again off again treatment (due to my school schedule), I can tell that the treatments have accomplished what I wanted them too. Dr. Lukert also suggested a more permanent fix to my neck problems (involving a few months of traction). So far, so good. The ENTIRE staff is always super friendly, always smiling. So even if you're having a so-so day, you'll leave feeling happier due to the infectious uplifting energy that fills the clinic. They are also super nice about walk ins. Sometime I'll have an appointment, but my other family members will tag along, and they are always able to treat them. They are always very accommodating, and never make you feel like you've put them behind schedule or are an imposition. Chiropractic isn't for everyone, but if you've been chiro shy because of a bad experience or haven't been getting results, give these folks a try. They honestly want to do what is best for you!
