It's been just under 5 months since I had a Total Shoulder Replacement, performed by Dr Benjamin Woodhead, assisted by PA Jordan Hiatt. I couldn't be more pleased with how it all went, from the surgery thru the rehab with Chuck Kasson at Snyder Physical Therapy. I went from having a painful shoulder that made using it very uncomfortable to a shoulder with full range-of-motion and pain free exercise. Throughout it all, I seldom had pain, just an occasional ache, and never needed any pain med besides Tylenol. My one regret is trying shots first, which only delayed the needed surgery, read more

Appointments.... Can't get one and being lied to as to the reasons why. I have been told the doctor I want "is not allowed " to work on patients over 42 years old (I'm 62) when my co-worker had the same condition and this Doctor operated on him 3 months ago when he was 48. When confronted they changed it to 55 and said the doctors set this age. When confronted again I informed them you previously said he "was not allowed." My insurance company says he is allowed to operate on people 0-125 years old. I've researched 3 different doctors that I'm willing to go with and still don't have an appointment. read more

I see three different doctors. Dr. Cullan, Dr. Bott, and Dr. Swanson. All three are nice and friendly. Do x-rays, and if nothing shows up, MRI. They have nice nurses and assistants. All have great bedside manners. Highly recommend Nebraska Orthopedic Center read more

Merged with LOC. stay away from Dr Lawson Misdiagnosed my daughter cartilage tear and tendon damage as "growing pains" for months. I had to BEG for him to order an MRI. When he did he ordered one with contrast when contrast shouldn't have been needed Luckily I cut ties and took my child to Childrens hospital where she was quickly diagnosed and operated in. Her damage was made worse by his ineptitude. Stay away. read more

being a new patient who's never been to an orthopedic.. a lot of people told me they were the best so I was hoping for a better outcome, my experience is they have been the worst. found out my collarbone was broken, going on two days now since my CT has been looked at yet I've had nobody call and updated on the care plan. Haven't been given anything for pain management. 10/10 worst experience, botts team has been very unhelpful And have failed me as a patient. I was just thrown in a sling and put off to the side. DANE TODD IS THE BEST. 100% would recommend him and his assistants. Some of the receptionist are disrespectful to the max and need to be fired honestly. Worst ever. I have never been treated so poorly. First of all, I called to make an appointment. They asked me why I was seeking treatment. Gave me an appointment with the wrong Dr, charged me for that visit then charged me for the visit with the right Dr. He barely talked to me, handed me a brace and told me to go to physical therapy. When that didn't work, he dismissed me. AND to add insult to injury, they just sent me ANOTHER bill. I have never ever been treated more poorly. Three years ago today I had a hip replacement with Dr. Galentine at Nebraska Orthopedic. I cannot say thanks enough. I'm 66 and this past week I finished 40th out of almost 6000 employees in a walking competition at my work. I finished with just under a half million steps. No pain! Love to walk! Went to see Dr. about a hip injury, after less than 5 min of talking to me the intern decided that I needed to get a shot in the hip. The the Dr. came in and in less than a min agreed so they scheduled me for a shot. I came back in the next week got a shot in the front of my hip and that was it. I called back after several weeks because the pain had gotten worse. The Nurse told me the only thing to be done is to lose weight, I asked if they could at least take a look and her answer was no. Then she was done. While I do need to lose weight, I used to jog a couple miles every morning now I can't stand for extended periods. That makes it kind of hard to exercise. I went to Neb Orthopedic a couple of times about 10 years ago and it was great. Now it's a joke. I would advise you to find somewhere else to go. read more

Best group of doctors you can ask for for any orthopedic need or injury! They even have their own private MRI right in the hospital and are conveniently located within St. Elizabeth medical center! The doctors there are well trained and very well educated and specialized! For orthopedic or sports injuries I wouldn't go anywhere else. And they have a full network of physical therapy places to work with which is an added bonus! There is a reason they are the doctors for the Nebraska Cornhusker football players! read more

I have had numerous appointments before my surgery, after and after my most recent injury. I have seen the front desk staff "gossip" about clients coming in most of those times. I am a nurse and know HIPPA and I think the front desk staff doesn't understand how serious it is. Here are a few examples of the unprofessionalism I have noticed: 1. I was waiting, reading a magazine and playing on my phone. A lady and who I'm assuming were her two daughters walked up to check in. This lady was wearing skin tight leggings, heels, and a skimpy t-shirt and looked like she worked out. I saw and looked back down at what I was reading. Now, I did laugh in my head because who takes their young daughters to a doctor wearing THAT. But, I would NEVER say that out loud. That seems to be different for the front desk staff. When this lady walked away to find her seat, I looked up and saw 3 front desk ladies look at each other with big eyes, rolled their eyes and started laughing. Seriously? Whatever your thinking, THINK it. Don't make it known. Many other people in the waiting area saw the lady and what she was wearing. And ZERO of them commented out loud. But apparently the front desk staff can make fun of the people who come in as loud as they can. I was disappointed in them that day. 2. This was just the other day. I walked in the through the doors and a gentleman was sitting on a bench very close to the doors. This gentleman had his cell phone on speaker and the sound of waiting music/cues were coming from it. I smiled when he looked up but ignored what was going on. (Because it's NONE of my business.) I walked up, checked in, and sat down. I looked up and 4 front desk workers were standing in a huddle and staring in my direction. I was beginning to get worried that I did something wrong or had food on my face ;). But I tried to make eye contact so they would get the hint to look away and realized it wasn't me they were looking at. They were staring and whispering about the gentleman that sitting by the door. At this point, 5-6 of the workers kept huddling together and staring off to see what he was doing and people waiting in line to get checked in. I guess that gentleman started walking to the desk because two of them walked up the check in and waited for him to arrive (all while looking terrified). They sent the man back to see the doctor and one of the desk workers say there and watched him walk back and listened to him talk to the nurse. She sat there and wouldn't blink and eye until she heard everything he had to say. I'm assuming he went into a room because she jumped up and huddled with the rest of them and reported everything he said. That actually irritated me to see them so careless. These are only two examples of horrible customer service I've seen at the clinic. These are probably the worst two times as well. But I can't believe how rude and inconsiderate some of the desk staff is. They may need to some training about keeping some things to themselves and not making it so the entire waiting room can see and hear what they say to each other; especially when it's about a client who came in. I've had no problem with my doctor. I usually spend 5x the amount of time in the waiting area then I actually do with the nurse or doctor. Everyone is always in a rush too. The longest I've waited was 1 hour in the waiting room and 1 hour in the exam room before the doctor was in there. And he spent 4 whole minutes discussing my injury and hurried out. I wish they cared just a bit more. read more

I went to see Dr Todd @ NE Ortho after getting poor treatment from my local ER. Dr Todd was amazing. He saw my injury and right away knew it was far worse than it was treated as. He had to deliver tough news to a woman who had been living with an injury she was told was 'just a bruise' for 3 weeks and I had no support system with me due to covid regulations. He was kind and unphased by my shock and tears to find out I needed emergency surgery. He continued to explain what would happen, answer all my questions and give me all the time I needed to get stuff arranged and make calls to my husband to relay all my new info. He handled the surgery wonderfully and even had multiple follow up visits with me when my recovery took longer than anticipated. He never seemed annoyed with my questions and concerns and continually stated and made me feel like he genuinely wanted me to heal as badly as I did. Even when my recovery was done and my leg still wasn't the same he sent me over to other doctors to address the nerve issues in hopes that I could continue to get more help and healing. My leg issues I currently have are not a result of Dr. Todd, but of the poor care I received initially, because even the best surgeons can't fix all of someone else's mistakes. Had it not been for Dr. Todd and his nurses insisting to see me that day and addressing the issue immediately my leg could have been so much worse. I am abundantly thankful for the care I received there from beginning to end. Sidenote: I never waited longer than 15 minutes in the waiting room and never sat in the exam room longer than 5-10 minutes waiting. I never felt rushed out or just like a number. The on call nurse even went out of her way to call my pharmacy on a Saturday afternoon when they wouldn't fill my prescription because it was typed and signed not a paper signature, because they knew I would need those meds and couldn't wait until Monday. read more

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE, TERRIBLE SERVICE! Do NOT come to this facility if you want to have good service, good, caring physicians, nurses, or doctors! I would absolutely rate this 0 stars if i could. Thoroughly disappointed in EVERY ASPECT. I recently broke my arm and had some very cruel uncaring man put a cast on for me. I had this cast on for 4 weeks and found out that he put this cast on wrong, and i would have to have surgery. That surgery went wrong and i had to have another surgery. extremely disappointed. this place is terrible. read more

Less than 48 hours ago, I fell (yes, I was doing something stupid) and broke my collar bone. I went to an urgent care (I believe it was with the Bryant system), and they said they could give me a sling and a prescription for pain killers but that I would need to go to an ortho in a week or less. We found this Nebraska Orthopaedic via a list the urgent care office provided. The morning after the accident, I was in pretty bad pain. I was unable to lay down or sleep. After we found out our insurance was taken here, we called as soon as they opened at 8:30 am. They told us they could get me in around 9:30 or after. I was super thankful because at this point the reality of the situation was setting in. We got to the office, which is located through a breezeway on the second level of the parking garage inside of St. Elizabeth's (convenient!). It took about 20 minutes to fill out paperwork. I spent about 40-45 minutes in the waiting room (keep in mind I was fit in the schedule just an hour before and a new patient that needed to be processed). I was taken to an exam room and asked questions by a physician's assistant. He was awesome...very sympathetic but light hearted. My doctor is Dr. Justin Harris. I had read about him while waiting for him. He is pretty accomplished and, bonus, works with the Huskers football team. So I was already confident in him. He has a pretty abrupt bedside manner which was off-putting at first. You can tell he is a guy that has seen a lot of stuff (no nonsense and has that in-the-field sports medicine doctor mentality). He was definitely confident, maybe even a little cocky to some, but this made me feel more confident. I mean, yea, if I was a very busy bad ass, I would probably be that way too. When it comes to someone literally putting bones back together, I really could care less about bedside manner. My main focus was on a high level of experience and expertise, which Dr. Harris possessed. He gave me the information I needed to make a well-informed decision. My decision was to pursue surgery rather than let the collarbone fracture heal on its own. During my initial exam with him, he was looking at his phone a lot, which I thought was weird and kind of rude at first, but then we realized he was checking his surgery schedule! He was able to fit me in that day at 3:30pm for surgery! I was amazed and so happy to receive that kind of immediate attention and care less than 24 hours after I broke my bone. The surgery went well, and I am feeling much better. I am super impressed with the quality of care and the turnaround. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who is dealing with bone or sports injury issues. read more

I went to Nebraska Ortho after finding out I was walking on a broken foot for 10 weeks (PCP misdiagnosed me and sent me to PT who said it was broke). They were extremely busy, but I like busy better than walking in and not seeing anyone. My appointment was at 8:30, I walked back to the room by 9 (I was a new pt so they had to do all the insurance verification etc) The longest wait I had was for XRay. But everyone was polite and knew their bones! The best part was after I had an MRI I was expecting to get a call from an RN about the results, but not I got a call from the MD (Dr. Swanson) himself who answered all my questions and didn't try to rush me off the phone! Would definitely go back, but I hope I don't have to! read more

I would absolutely not recommend this practice. Our first experience was completely unsatisfactory for a variety of reasons (unpleasant conversation with reception making the appt., extremely long wait times on phone, being asked repeated same questions by nurse, PA, and doctor in the same appointment (questions that the medical chart and x-rays gave all the answers to), and the rushed experience). Due to the poor service, I asked for a small discount on the bill (I asked for a $50 discount when I had already been billed over $500), but was told this was not an option and the practice felt like nothing was wrong. I also asked to talk to the doctor directly (Dr. Cullan) and was told that was against protocol. I talked to 3-4 individuals about my poor experience and they apologized for how I felt, but didn't apologize for the poor service. They also stated that I simply must not understand how billing or how medical practices work. Overall, I'm unsatisfied with how this practice operates. They book themselves so tight that they don't allow themselves to provide satisfactory patient experience. And of course, they continue billing, billing, billing with no regard to the value they're actually providing. Will never do business with them again. What a hot mess. read more
