Let me be clear. This is not a dance club. It's really not even a bar in the sense that you can…read moresocialize and drink as a single tourist. The only dancers are the ones on stage. And "dancer" is used very loosely for a lot of them. The beefcake is ok to look at. But with all the muscles, it's really awkward to just watch them move to the beat. It hurts to watch. And when they take off their shirts, all you hear are the screams of little girls in the audience like it's a Chippendales club for straight women If you want to go for just a few drinks, don't expect to be able to stand anywhere to watch the entertainment or cruise for your fling that night. The tables are reserved for bottle service, which you have to book in advance. There is a cover charge equivalent to US $20 - this includes 2 drinks. Ok great. But the question has always been, where do you stand if you're just a visitor and you don't know about the table reservations?? Any little bit of extra space they might have is dedicated to the myriad servers they employ. It's not like you can stand casually at a bar the way you can at other bars/clubs So it's really for cliques of friends to occupy the tables that surround the stage, and definitely not a place to go to meet anyone new. That is fine if that's what you want Without a table reservation, you really feel like an outsider, and they say you can stand and drink your drink at a table, but you need to leave as soon as the people who reserved the table arrive It's basically dinner theater Don't get me wrong - the drag queens are good. If they weren't, they wouldn't have a RuPaul's Drag Race Philippines franchise Personally, I won't go back This place doesn't provide a good enough balance of worthwhile performances with talking to cute Filipino boys or travelers like us It's just sad that it's only one of maybe two gay establishments total in Manila

Manila is home to a super colorful LGBTQ+ community ranging from flamboyant outfits, conservative folks, and all in between. We were ready for performances and entertainment to blow us away. O'Bar in Ortigas Center has been around for several years now, it's been one of the more popular shows around. I've seen YouTube videos of Drag Race Philippines but haven't followed religiously like RuPaul's Drag Race, but when I see these ladies perform on stage, I know I'll recognize them. We planned on coming on a Sunday with a group of 5 of us, what we all agreed was purchase a bottle of alcohol and get a lounge VIP table. The club requires each person a cover fee which included 3 drink tickets. But with the price of a bottle, table rates are fully consumable which we planned on being out for a while. What surprised us the most was not only there was one round of production, after the GoGo dancers were complete with their number, another drag show came out in a whole new repertoire!

Rapture has come a long way. What started out as a seedy-looking bar along Aurora Blvd. in Cubao…read morehas transformed into a decent venue. With Palawan 1 and 2 folding up and with only Starlites left as an option, Rapture's continued existence is a welcome treat to the Pink community. Rapture is located right in front of Aurora Blvd so it's not too scary. There is a huge signage marking the venue so you'll know you're in the right place. Rapture's interior has been upgraded too. Sure the area is still a bit cramped with tables and chairs arranged quite close to each other. Our waiter almost knocked our drinks down one time too many. The stage where the the talents perform and the jammers sing was also upgraded. Thanks to my friend Abner it now has a beautiful backdrop as opposed to a rather tacky paint and curtain combo it had before. The jokes are okay but nothing new. There are quite a number of people in the stage acting as the night's host so it's kind of a mixed bag. We found some of the jokes quite funny but the others are just meh. I heard they moved the dance floor to the second floor but I wasn't able to check it out. I will the next time we go back so there's that. All in all, Rapture is a viable option to the high-end O-Bar in Ortigas. The patrons aren't too shabby and there are definitely a lot of good-looking guys to oggle. Don't even try doing any hanky-panky inside as they're strict (at least that's what they say). The next time you want to party, catch up with friends over bottles of beer or both, try Rapture. It's not in the same level as O-Bar but I'm pretty sure you'll love it there.

The place is very welcoming and it has a spot for anyone who wants a certain kind of night. A comedy fan? Just position yourself near the stage where their beautiful drag queens roast you and your friends. Up for karaoke? Sign up and sing on stage. Just there for drinks and hanging out with friends? Go sit by the back and chat your night away. Want to shake that booty? There is a laser light room just for dancing. Just a quiet, alone, unwinding time? Hang out by the bar. Looking for your next beau? If you're a guy who's into men, just look anywhere, really. PROS: Funny and beautiful drag ladies; NO BATHROOM LINE FOR WOMEN; Safe space for dancing, and doing anything else, TBH; Reasonably priced drinks; Staff is very friendly, service is really prompt; The owner is nice and approachable; Everyone's so friendly! CONS: Room for dancing gets really crowded and hot as the night changes; Long bathroom line for men; Entrance fee; Not the most "sosyal" vibe; Location is a bit scary TL;DR: It's a unicorn hole in the middle of Aurora. Go there because it's a fun place.

As someone who doesn't frequent clubs, I enjoyed the entirety of my night at House Manila. I stayed until Lady Trinity's set. I ended up going home at 4 in the morning. Someone has to let loose once in a while. Last Friday (15th May), House Manila teamed up with radio station, Magic 89.9, to an event called "People from Ibiza." They invited DJ Oliver Schmitz who flew in from Ibiza to Manila for a one-night only event. There were many people in the club that night but I didn't feel so suffocated by it! It didn't feel like we were all forced to be huddled in a cramped space. It was refreshing to be honest. It did leave an impression on me and my friends and I have decided to come back some time soon. House was full of yuppies, models and creative folk. You're sure bound to meet an interesting lot (of people). I know I did!

Wear upscale as much as possible because they won't let you in if you're dressed down or wear too casual clothes. Shorts and slippers aren't allowed when it comes to the guys.
