It's a big place with bar area in the front and a restaurant area at the back. Floor to ceiling glass along one side with views of the city and nice stylish furnishings. Drinks list here is big and there is a good selection of cocktails including house specialties. Bar food menu is mainly a selection of Asian dumplings, some vegetarian choices and buns and so on. I ordered a Truffle Martini and was quite disappointed. The intensity of truffle was missing and if you were blind tasting you wouldn't know it was a truffle martini. The Negroni was nice and well made. The fried calamari was good and I enjoyed it. Service is very friendly and English is spoken. It was a bit uncoordinated but ok. Prices are high for the food but not over the top. Being a hotel bar you have to account for the premium here. Having had my fill of beer, I just wanted a glass of seltzer (or mineral water or whatever you choose to call it). Now, don't get me wrong, I love Germany but everywhere they seem to serve water in tiny glasses. I wanted a giant glass of water...and the awesome bartender set me up with a half liter glass full of sparkling water. So I had my water, which helped a lot and now I needed food. Luckily, even in my state I was able to read the menu and see they had a cheeseburger and fries platter. I know, not Bavarian but at that point, all I'd had all day since breakfast was one of these ginormous pretzels and the skin off of some roast chicken. The food was tasty (as far as I can recall) and it really helped getting some food on my tummy. Aside from the water and food, what made this place great was the service. The bartender, whose name I regret that I didn't get, was amazing. She was so nice and friendly and really took care of me. I'm sure I looked like another tipsy American tourist but she was a sweetheart. She had short hair and glasses and maybe some tattoos. Anyway, she's the real deal. There was some music that was nice too. Overall, a nice, friendly, clean and welcoming place. To be frank, it can be intimidating to enter a big German beer hall by yourself because it seems everyone knows one another and you're an outsider. I have to admit, the Painkiller was pretty good! Definitely worth a try! The bartender was friendly and had some great recommendations, which made the experience even better! Downstairs is a piano bar with live music which was pretty awesome. The bar played old 1950s music. Keep in mind, the cocktail menu is extensive, almost like a book! The bar is well worth checking out if you're into classic cocktails and a laid-back, timeless vibe.

Give them a try, their old fashion was pleasant and they also offer more complex drinks. Nice sitting area away from the bar for sitting and visiting with friends. They play a nice selection of old classics vinal records.
