The owners wife Dotty picked up on the 2nd ring, always a good sign. I explained that my water…read moreheater died and needed someone to come take a look. She took a few notes and said she would call back. Nine minutes later she called and told me that their crew was just finishing up in my town and would swing by. Ten minutes later the owner John came up my walk and I directed him to the crawl space, whereupon he emerged 5 minutes later with the verdict: the 12 year old water heater was DOA and leaking. Since my mechanicals are all squeezed into a crawl-space, he would need to locate a new heater designed to fit in such spaces. He spent about 10 minutes on his phone and told me he could have a supply house in Hanover drive one right up. Additionally, he told me an electrician would be necessary to install an emergency cutoff switch and offered his go-to guy if I didn't have one. I didn't and he made the call. An hour later he came back with his helper and the new tank. Meyer Electric out of Swartswood showed up 10 minutes later and both crews went to work. 3 hours elapsed and I was back in business! I am completely satisfied with the workmanship and with the fast response to hot water dilemma. I love that the operation is a family affair and local. I'm lucky too that John has a good relationship with Bill Meyer Electric, who came on very short notice and did the work for a fair price. You can't ask for more than good, skilled and honest local contractors. I highly recommend them!

For the amount of work that was done here, I found all their pricing to be absolutely nothing but fair. Since buying this house, I've had to replace the; hot water heater, well-water holding tank, well pump & washing machine spigots. I think that's it... for now. But Heine will be my first and only call should the need arise (i have a kitchen/bath remodel coming up... :)

I was traveling and my wife called to have our furnace restarted, the repairman came and restarted…read moreit. One month later, the electricity was accidentally turned off and I was traveling and this time when a service rep came, he lit the furnace, noticed a large hole in the boiler and then immediately shut it down and said it was very dangerous, putting carbon monoxide in the house and potentially starting the house on fire. While a month earlier a different tech, didn't say anything. On top of that there is an annual contract on the furnace for cleaning, which occurred less than 4 months earlier, I don't trust the skill of the workers. This problem didn't occur over night, they had 2 previous opportunities to identify this dangerous issue.

They undertook the cleaning and my bill was $181.85 less our contract discount of $20.00. They missed an issue with a pressure released valve, so I called them and they had to come back. They replaced a 3/4" female relief value part $109.00 and a Taco air vent part $89.00; they purged the system and the bill for the second visit 2 days after the first visit ended up being $491.15 which includes a annual savings contract which cost $389.00 and our discount on that work was $49.50. So far $69.50 in contract savings. Then I was told in order to purge the system we needed them to come back and reroute the water feed and some valves and pipes and was told the the values seemed blocked. I asked for a quote and received one; here we go - waterfeeder backflow com I $445.00 balls valve 1/2" 54.00, copper pipe and fittings $150.00, contract discount $157.25 then drain and refill and purge system again for another $66.00 total bill $562.75. I call Hamburg plumbing and they quote $118.00 for the backflow part and $9.13 for the ball valve. I was told by the repair guy after I called him that there is some labor for the approx hour he said it would take. So I calculated I have first being over charge to extreme for the parts and the labor for the hours work ended up being $385.62 best as I could figure not knowing the pipe and fitting price but allowed $50.00. Obviously and in my view and very bad company, questionable morals, and was even told by the repair guy who was just on a education course that in future if people do home repairs they could risk a fine and 90 days jail. DO NOT USE THESE IN MY VIEW CROOKS
