I called to make my yearly appointment for a physical. Spoke with both Michelle and Jackie. They both first asked me to tell them the name on top of the card, they did not need the subscriber number or group number just the name. They both asked me where I purchased my insurance. This is when they told me I could not see my doctor because I bought insurance from the Marketplace and they do NOT accept it. I said to them, why does it matter where I purchased my insurance your website clearly states you accept Blue Advantage. Bad office. They are terrible. I hope the doctor is unaware and isn't encouraging it. I hope the licensing agency looks into these two employees because they are discriminating against us.

You guys literally every single person who I crossed paths with here were so incredibly wonderful. The two ladies who did my ultrasound were the most kind and warm I've ever met in my life. Literally so very very kind. They made me feel so relaxed and at peace they took the utmost care. The doctor was wonderful even the receptionists were lovely. I wish that these ladies were my primary obgyn! I wish I saw them every month like I do ilm heath. The best health service I've received in my entire life hands down.

She asked me to wait because they want my bladder full. After 15 minutes, she decided to let me go to the restroom. I had to empty my bladder again for the sonogram tech mid-sonogram because she was pressing so hard. The tech asked me to relax my stomach muscles, to which I replied "if I relax, I'll pee myself". The tech would not let me hear the heartbeat for one. I asked twice and each time they ignored me. Also, I had to sign a waiver that states I cannot take any photo or video while I'm in the room. I refused to sign it, to which the receptionist said I had to. I am a military spouse and have Tricare. My friend, who has the same insurance as I do, sees a different doctor in Wilmington and had all of her fees covered. Here, my fees are not completely covered by insurance. This doesn't make any sense. I understand there are codes involved. Neither of us are high risk or have medical history issues that would change that. The atmosphere is not welcoming and I felt like a number, not a patient.

The woman did not ask if it was a good time for me to talk but dove directly into how they don't take insurance and how she doesn't know how I heard about them. Well I would tell you if you asked lol. She immediately started rattling off prices ($250 cash for first appointment, $180 for future appointments, yadayadayada). I don't really care about the cost of my healthcare. I care about the quality. She was snappy and not at all interested in answering my questions. Despite the bad impression I decided to go ahead and make an appointment to find out if they can actually help me. Lo and behold while they can call you at 6 pm on a weeknight, they never book appointments past 2:30. Huh? Why are you calling me at 6:15 if you stop working at 2:30. So after all that I couldn't even make a late afternoon appointment. I guess I'll stick with my nurse practitioner for now.

Im extremely well educated with HIPPA regulations and violations and this place is off point with all of the above. I let the first problem with my medicine go .... this second encounter i had to multiple times go in person and call and leave messages to even be able to get a refill. What a headache. Which is exactly what you can expect from this place. Vanessa gave me my diagnosis and told me they would refer me somewhere but has failed to do so. I got aggravated with the front desk not being able to comprehend the fact that just like my paperwork says my preferred name..... is obviously my preferred name. I shouldn't have to hand hold a pharmacy or a doctor's office to do their job when I dont work for either of them. I did offer to apologize to her front desk and she did nothing but talk over me and tell me about her husband chuck Charlie whatever and how he doesn't get upset about his doctors calling him the wrong name..... well im not Vanessa's husband and that has 0 to do with me as a patient. She kicked me out of this practice because she said i was rude and that im not happy with their practice.... welll...... you won't be either if you decide to come here. Dr. O'Donnell is very professional and very considerate. He also is very cautious which I appreciate. I like the fact that when changing my medication, he changes one at a time so we can narrow down what works and what doesn't. I have read comments on other sites where people gave him lower reviews because they didn't understand the first step to treating migraines can be medications like anti-seizure meds. Most people automatically assume they are going to get medication to make the pain go away. Dr. O'Donnell is the type of doctor that wants to prevent the pain from ever starting in the first place. I highly recommend this office, but with an open mind on your treatment.
