I've never had a problem with getting an appointment for when I need which is often later in the day. I've also never had to wait long which is a testament to how efficient the place is ran. I've seen a few different dentists and hygienists; everyone had been kind and treated me very professionally. An example is that I tend to grind my teeth mostly in my sleep. The dentist suggested a mouth guard and gave me different options either getting one on my own or through the office. They ran my insurance to estimate it without pressuring me to buy anything That's how I can tell they care about you as a patient. I called your office at 4am to cancel my appointment and then again at 8am to verify that the office had received my cancellation. The Office Manager "Courtney" basically berated me for cancelling my appointment so close to the time I had to be in and then reprimanded me and then I was told I would never have morning appointments again because, "she needed time to fill in the appointment slot". I repeatedly asked her if I could call back (I stated 3 times that I was in my bathroom) and she completely ignored me, interrupted me and talked over me. There was no empathy, sympathy or understanding. She spoke to me like I was not a client and I was treated like a 4 year old child on the phone. I finally called back later in the afternoon to speak with her because I want to remind her and Dental Associates: I have been a steady and faithful client for almost 3 years. My family goes there and I have actually told friends and work associates to go there because your doctors are very good. Your #1 problem is your office staff. This is not the first time I have been spoken to or treated this way at your office or on the phone. I have never before cancelled an appointment and my bills are paid and always on time. I am seriously confused at the lack of client care. Stop treating your clients with medical conditions like they are a hindrance to your "appointment" schedule. Have a little heart when a client needs to cancel for a medical reason, it's not like I had a conflicting appointment with my manicurist. (On a side note: if you need to fill in appointment slots so fast, should you be a bit worried about your financial situation?) Today June 3, 2020 I received a letter form your office stating that you need $50.00 for my cancellation. Also, the $50.00 will not be paid and I will be sending the bill to my lawyer and if your business needs the $50.00 so badly, you can meet me in small claims court, because your lawyer might be good but not as good as mine. Effectively, my family and I are withdrawing our business from your office. Reminder: there are numerous dental offices in Sioux Falls that are looking for clients. You have lost 3 clients today and believe me the reviews we will be leaving on websites will not reflect how we have been treated in a positive light.

They made a mistake on a bill and when questioned about it they got all defensive, tried to blame everyone else and said they were doing me a favor billing insurance. It was a $50 dispute and when I offered to go halves, she told me that it would be better if I found another dentist. Right after I they got thousands and thousands of dollars just from me in the last 2 months! Well, I guess for $25, you won't see me and my family again. Ok with me.

I feel like I was rushed the whole time. I was seating in a chair for half an hour waiting for the doctor and when he got there, I needed to go to the bathroom. He asked me if I could wait and I said I had to go. I've been sitting here for 30 minutes so I went to the bathroom to pee and took me only two minutes by the time I came back. He was already gone for another five minutes when he came back give me my shot really quick. I complained about pain again and complain about pain again and he continue trying to pull the tooth. I felt rush and move on; I never felt like this before. And the other his assistant, she was super nice. Help me out with everything. She asked me if I wanted warm towel or a one black blanket and she made me feel better but I feel like the doctor was just rushing too finish and move on. and I also think that now I have a cracked tooth next to the tooth that was removed so I had to go back to my dentist to see what he says about that. horrible experience,and I'm not going back there.

There's Jay Kappenman, who I have almost always seen, but who's trying to retire, his son, Will, who I have seen and is also awesome, his sister Tammy, and a newer guy, Zach, who is no relation, but a friend of Will's and is absolutely AMAZING as well, and I'm planning on going to him now that Jay is retiring. They have the family "feels" and don't do things that you don't need right away until you actually "need" them and truly care about you. The hygienists are wonderful too and you can tell that they get treated well there by the Dentists and love working there, which tells you a lot as well.
