According to their media kit, this quarterly publication has a readership of mostly upper-class woman who spoil their dogs by showering them with gifts, special treats, pet sitters, dog walkers, and the like. (Perfectly fine by me, for what it's worth!) However, although the winter copy of the magazine covered many important subjects (preparing your dog for winter months; an experience at a specific Denver doggy day care; pet food and other products made in the USA; care for elderly pets; etc.), I found the articles bland and uninspiring - I've actually considered writing an article to send to Colorado Dog Magazine myself. The magazine has a professional presentation and is printed with very high-quality paper and ink, but I'd like to see a more sophisticated writing level - surely these women are wise enough to comprehend articles written with a bit more skill and literal embellishment. I'll probably pick up the Spring issue to give the magazine a second chance, then review a second time with more than one experience under my belt :)

One time I went and visited the shop, which is honestly nothing special, but these guys are really into the printing business and are happy to talk with their customers, show them the facilities and show you how the printing process works. I visited the print shop for the particular reason of learning how to take better care of my company conference posters. They were all helpful in showing me the best way to store, ship, and handle large format print jobs. * Star uno is for using King Kong as a mascot, how cheesy and easy to remember ** Our friendly star number two is for this company's passion for printing *** Meet star three, he is awarded to King Kolor because they always print quality products on time, if not early **** Our final and last star is presented to King Kolor for helping to try to save my booty by repairing a five foot by six foot poster that got horribly damaged in shipping. Mr. Fifth star was taken away due to no program that recycles or reuses old, damaged, or outdated posters.

What I like is they're not likely to stick to just the main sports, they cover just about everything, even high school sports, soccer, indoor lacrosse, and even the athletic programs at smaller colleges and universities like Metro State. I always look forward to every issue especially their annual Snow Angels issue. It's too bad their efforts and triumphs with the magazine don't transfer over to their radio station on 1510 am. If it weren't for the fact that Kroenke Sports didnt have his teams games all broadcast on 1510 am, there wouldn't be a reason to listen to Mile High Sports Radio. The daily lineup of talking sports heads is highly overrated and some of them are truly full of themselves. I applaud Mile High Sports for trying to mark their mark on the Denver airwaves, but let's stick to what you do best and that's the magazine itself.

A shining light in the darkness that is corporate radio…read more My life wouldn't be as complete without Radio 1190. Seriously. Music is one of my biggest passions, and Radio 1190 consistently gives me soul food for my ears. Where else can you hear Cut Copy, Hank Williams Sr., Atmosphere and Sharon Jones, all in one set? They truly cover the entire spectrum of music, and their only limitation is that they won't play music that you can hear on mainstream radio. Their specialty shows kick major ass. I especially like Route 78 West (honkey tonk and trucker music), Beats from the East (contemporary Indian and Bollywood music), and the Local Shakedown (local music, duh!). They sponsor local music events, showcase up and coming bands, and give a ton to the Denver/Boulder music community. Sure, the DJs can be pretty sloppy and amateurish, but that's part of their charm as they're not pros, just music lovers. And yes, they're an AM station that broadcasts in mono (listen online for the full stereo experience), and yes, they have to power down when the sun goes down, but that just makes you appreciate it more. You never know what you're going to hear. You might love the current song and hate the next, but you'll never get bored, that's for sure. Viva the AM revolution! Cheers!

That's why Radio 1190, and all the publicly funded radio stations, are my bastion. These are the only places you will hear new, unique and original music. If you wanna listen to Lady Gaga all day, this probably isn't the place for you. I especially love the wide variety of shows. From hip-hop, dance, reggae, LOTS of indie, funk, folk/bluegrass, metal/goth/industiral, jazz, creole, many local artists . . . they're bound to have something you'll like. Save yourself from Clear Channel and move towards the light. There is a brighter side to Denver/Boulder radio.

She finds great graphics, and has awesome connections in the printing industry. She is an expert at trade show collateral and posters and can give you a slap in the face when you are so demanding, but obviously have no idea what you are talking about. She never gets upset when I ask for a million edits, and always takes my suggestions with a grain of salt. I didn't say she takes all of my suggestions, I just said, she takes them with a grain of salt. I like how when she has a better or different idea, she lets me know... She doesn't let a bad design go with her name on it.
