Got an IT job somewhere and learned more in less than a year by my self than the two years plus I spent here. I'm not even in IT anymore. All they care about is the money, and not the students. I needed my diploma and other certifications they had of mine for a job, and they almost didn't give it to me because my large chunk of money I owed the school wasn't paid off. Ridiculous. I could have my RN by now had I stayed away from this place. I'm now 20k in debt for a program that A) I can't even transfer my credits out and B) is honestly about equal to high school classes. The only classes that were helpful in my program were my medical terminology, CPR and clinical classes. Most of the teachers, except for a select few, are awful and teach you by literally reading out of a textbook. The financial aid staff are very rude, and they don't really help you find a job as promised. Most of the classes you take are not very necessary (depending on your program) and are more of a "take these so the college gets more money" classes. Also, I barely even used the books that cost me a large chunk of $$ as well. I learned 10x more in the first month I started working as an MA from the doctor I worked for, than I did in 2 years at empire. I regret going here, and often think about suing them to pay back my student loans.... I now work as an LVN and graduated from empire in 2017 with my MA AA. Save your money, and go through the JC or Sonoma state where you actually will learn something, and have a better path/connections to your future.

I don't know about the school itself, but because CNA BASE is associated with them, it's been a terrible experience. Thankfully I only paid for 1 year of CEU's and I have only been able to complete 1 course and I've spent the past 4 days trying to log in and complete other CEU's, which I have not been successfully able to do so. The teachers were amazing and provided excellent training during the labs. I learned a lot, and during my externship, I felt well-prepared as nothing came as a surprise to me. Vasco Career College is also very accommodating for all ages and even for mothers. Personally, I was able to complete my course successfully while taking care of my baby boy.

Don't waste your time or money. I went into this school with high hope's and every excited to start…read moretraining for HVAC. Not even a month into it and I was regretting and dragging my feet to in everyday. My 1st instructor taught use more about his personal life then the actual subject. Didnt follow the way he was supposed to teach us whiched caused a big issue for those who were going to go into the next class. He passed everyone regardless. Had a motor project and passed us all even though none of us got the motor to work. He didnt really even try to get it running. You don't learn in the traditional way. You don't learn from A-Z. They will throw you in wherever the class is currently at. So you maybe learning the very end of the book before you even learn the beginning of the book which is bad if you are completely new to the subject and don't have any knowledge or experience. You don't jump into HVAC right away which is normal. You'll be doing electrical theory but my instructor didn't even go over HVAC electrical. I was learning more how to be an electrician then HVAC technician. Once I got into HVAC I was told in was going to take my certification test at the end of that month. Which is beyond stupid. They gave me a study packet to help prepare me for the test. By the time I had to take the test I failed of course but wasnt worried. Was told i had 3 attempts to take the test. The very next day after I took the 1st test i was told to take it again, and again I failed. The day after the 2nd test I was told to take it again and use the study packet because the head of the campus wants us to pass. Probably to give him a bonus or something like that. Well I'm not going to pay them to cheat on my future. I tried to talk them but the head of the campus "wasn't in today". I tired to call and kept going in to talk to him about why they wanted me to cheat. But kept getting the same response. I called them and told them I was dropping out because the cheating was the last straw. Then it seemed like they actually cared about my problem. I finally got calls back from the school and told them why I was leaving but the lady seemed not to really be paying attention and wanted me to go in and sit down with the head of the campus. I wasn't going to waste my time with them anymore. Said in was going to go in but didn't. I told them about it and they didn't seem to care until I left.

I cannot stress how chill and nice he was. The course was taking a toll on my physical and mental health, but Scottie's cheerful optimism kept me going. He truly embodies positive energy and makes lectures so much more bearable. His storytelling and advice were very eye-opening as well. I regret not approaching him for help more often. However, unsurprisingly, it's very rigorous. For anyone looking at an 8-week course, you will spend 20 hours a week: 10 hours on lectures (MW or TTh; 5 hours each) and 10 on skills (Sunday); of course, with breaks in between. Lectures will cover 6 chapters per week, and you will take lecture exams every weekend on the day of your skills instruction. You should be able to dedicate a huge amount of time to reading through the course material (at least 20 hours imo). So please reconsider your decision if you're planning to work or study full-time during the course. Otherwise, give it a shot! Be cool and professional, and most important of all, make sure you have a great time. I promise you, it'll be worth it.

I recently completed the 8-week EMT course at Bay Area Training Academy in Milpitas, and I…read moregenuinely could not have asked for a better experience. Our main instructor, Michael, had close to a decade of paramedic experience, and it showed every single day in class. He constantly went above and beyond when teaching, not only preparing us for the EMT course itself, but also giving us insight into the life, responsibilities, and reality of working as a paramedic. That perspective was incredibly helpful in understanding both the EMT role and what the next steps in this field can look like. One thing I really appreciated was how focused he was on making sure everyone passed their exams and skill evaluations. I never once felt unprepared going into a test or practical. He did a great job balancing the actual coursework with real-life stories from the job, many of which were honestly hilarious and made class much more engaging and memorable. I also want to give a huge shoutout to the additional skills instructors they brought in during the course. Having multiple experienced providers helping on skills days made a huge difference. Zach, a flight paramedic, was awesome and incredibly knowledgeable, and Randy, an EMT with 30 years of experience, was one of the kindest instructors I've met. Both of them, along with the rest of the instructors, brought their own style and personality to the class and genuinely seemed to care about helping us succeed. I'll be honest -- this course is not easy. It takes real effort, studying, and commitment. But coming from someone who traditionally hasn't been great at school and had zero medical experience before starting, it is absolutely doable if you put in the work and aren't afraid to participate and put yourself out there. I had an amazing time in this program. My class was full of great people, and the overall experience is something I wouldn't change in the slightest. I'm really grateful for everything I learned here and would absolutely recommend Bay Area Training Academy to anyone considering EMT school.

If you are a coach or in any kind of healing or personal growth professional you really owe it to your clients to go through this experience. Yes, it's NLP. You will learn "classic" NLP at a level of depth and integration that I've never seen taught anywhere else (and I've trained with other NLP schools) but it is also so, so, so much more.

It…read morehas changed my professional life - which of course is rooted in my changed personal life. 10 years ago, I was focused on understanding problems and creating solutions in the world "out there." That's, so I thought, is what I get paid for. I had the conviction that we were relatively well equipped to identify and interact with the world "out there" - which included the popular and politically correct relativism, cultural sensitivity, and the notion of personal view points. Today that looks a little comical - in a good natured sort of a way. Yes, the training of NLP Marin offers tools, communication and interpersonal skills, and powerful frameworks that help us make sense of the world in very different ways. They are totally worth the price of admission and you are getting a great deal. They don't not even begin to describe the value of the training. The best way I can describe it, so much of the value is about a quality of personal presence: intense curiosity, openness (as in suspending judgement), vulnerability (as in being willing to learn, be wrong, and safe enough in myself to expose myself...), and courage to do something - anything - when the time has come. Now, I have a deep appreciation for the interesting problems - the once you can't solve by paying for better expertise - where the solution is contained in the way we look at the problem. The solution is in our face but we don't see it. It is out of this personal presence that new questions arise. These questions shed new light on how we make meaning of our experience, what we are feeling, hidden assumptions in our thinking, and all the noise we are creating in an effort to stay safe - in a dance we put on together with everybody else. Priceless!!! Carl Buchheit, Michelle Masters, my teaching assistants and my community of peers have patiently hung in there with me (and still do today) as I am learning at my own pace to become more present to myself and make more useful distinctions about the world "in here" and how it dramatically affects the world "out there." Words fail it - you have to experience it...

I developed his online delivery in trust. Since it was merely based on a verbal contract, both David Quigley and Bridges Academy, after three years of my diligently developing and building (some together with Pat) the delivery, recruiting and training a fabulous team, designing effective quality control components for teaching assistants, and other details of successful online instruction, he and Patricia Haggard of Bridges Academy simply decided to throw me out.
