I was an amateur MMA fighter and a blue belt in BJJ, and I wanted to find a place that I could continue to train BJJ and MMA and progress as a fighter. I did a ton of research to find a gym that could help me reach my goals and Triumph BJJ seemed to be the best fit. They had lots of good fighters that were competing and winning so I figured they had to be doing something right, so I ended up joining and I am glad I did. I have been training here since then, about 2 and a half years ago. Their Schedule can't be beat offering high level training in BJJ 7 days a week and Striking (Boxing or Muay Thai) most days of the week and led by quality instructors. Also, they just moved into a giant brand new facility with massive amounts of mats space, a full sized mma cage and brand new heavy bags and striking equipment. The classes range from fundamental to high paced competition classes, and there is a wide variety of students with many higher belts on the mats each night and also plenty of white belts. So whether you're already experienced or brand new you will fit right in. Professor Jimmy not only responded quickly but personally-which is a rarity. Unfortunately, he wouldn't be teaching the class I was able to make but he let the instructor teaching know I'd be there. It's hard walking into a new place, even harder when everyone else knows each other so I was pleasantly surprised when Coach Dasha, called me by name, set me up with a waiver form and even let me use a school's uniform. They're just as technical as they are friendly and I liked that the warm up was related to what we were learning. I was lucky enough to get partnered with one of their resident black belts who not only had some moves but was willing to help me learn what he did. Super welcoming, loved the class structure and everyone there rolled hard but were still so easygoing.

We were never informed there was a fee to quit when we signed up, Jennifer Luth said most people just pay all summer and not go (why would anyone do that?) and make them up during the school year?? (which is adventageous for them because they still get their money and you'd likely forget how many makeup classes you needed or you just wouldn't be able to do them because of other activities) or we could pay a fee to leave. I replied to her email on June 16 to ask what this fee is and received no response as of June 29th. We've had to call our bank to stop the charges. And no, I specifically chose to handle this via email so I would have written proof. As for the classes, I was not at all impressed. There was no actual karate taught, instead my child spent the hour playing duck duck goose, red light green light, doing basic obstacle courses or running back and forth. Overall, We had a lousy experience, felt like we were taken advantage of and cannot recommend this place.

Since I started studying with him, my health has improved dramatically. Training with Grandmaster Roger Rodriguez has resolved my type 2 diabetes. I've gone from a couch potato to an award winning athlete, earning medals in local, regional and international competition including a 2nd place in sparring in Korea. The school has a family atmosphere where both adults and kids are nurtured as people as well as martial artists. There are a number of families where both parents and children are students.
