A few hours later I called and was told I was scheduled for an appointment with Ash. I've had hundreds of massages where I live in Seattle and in various places around the world. I all honesty, the massage I got from Ash was among the top two or three. The only way it could have been better would have been if there was more time. As a cyclist, my legs need extra attention, and Ash's deep-tissue work was unparalleled. And she loosened up my back just perfectly. I can't give Ash or Santosha Spa a higher rating.

My wife and I signed up for a couple's massage in the salt cave. Our experience in BC before then…read morehas been that people are very accepting of mask-wearing and much more compliant with proving vaccination status than people in the US. We try to be very careful to minimize risk. I guess we assumed that the folks at the Himalaya Salt Cave would follow along with the compliance of their fellow British Columbians, especially as this is a health/wellness type establishment. Instead, we were surprised to see no mask wearing by either massage therapist upon entering. I inquired whether they were vaccinated and the answer was no. They explained that "salt is anti-viral" and that they are always very careful. We kept our masks on and proceeded to the massage tables. Once we were undressed and ready to go, they asked if we'd prefer they wear masks. The answer was yes-- these are people who were getting in close to us, salt or no salt. The massages were good, but honestly we should have been told up front of their unvaccinated status and they should have followed our lead in mask-wearing. And "salt kills the virus?" Really?!?!

It was my first visit to Brooke...and she was very courteous, caring and took the time to get to know me and what needed work the most. Her home studio is very quiet and private and felt like I was at any other spa in town....just without the noise of traffic and such....or the rush of people coming and going. She was so good I ended up falling asleep a few times I think, but that's a good thing and feel so refreshed and although tired, "healed" and rejuvinated at the same time.
