They have everything!! Hardware, grills, camping supplies, kitchen and home goods. I buy all my sweatshirts and swimsuits there as well!

I've been shopping here for years and everyone has been helpful and pleasant, ALWAYS. Amazing what they have, I don't think I've ever been unable to get what I needed. I do wish they were open a bit later and open on Sundays but we can't have everything. Edit: Today, Saturday October 12, 2019, I went into the store and told to come back tomorrow if I needed anything else! Turns out they are in fact open Sundays in the summer! This is fall so not sure how "summer" is defined, perhaps Memorial Day until Fall Fest? Anyway, Google business hours as usual are not reliable despite proprietors changing them to be up to date. "If they don't have it, you don't need it." Friendly service with a large selection, especially for a small town.

I went here with my family to get fishing rods and a Reel. We are beginners at fishing and we took the reel out of the package and connected it to the fishing rod only to find out that it would not cast. I brought the real in the following day with the box and receipt and I was told that I could not return it. Extremely poor customer service and I have never heard of not being able to exchange a product that was faulty to begin with when you have a receipt and the box and I strongly advise not shopping here for any equipment that you might need to return. read more

My family has been shopping at Nelson's all my life (60 years.) Nelson's has everything imaginable that a hardware store should have, plus so much more that you never knew you needed! There's no such thing as popping into Nelson's for something quickly; there's just too many interesting things to look at! We really miss the old Bailey's Harbor Store. With all of it's nooks and crannies there was always a surprise around the next corner. The other and now only store in Fish Creek is better organized but therefore less fun. But they still have stuff you can't find anywhere else. Nelson's also has something no one else seems to have: plenty of people to help out on floor! They're courteous and they know their stuff. Shopping at Nelson's is a lot of fun. Don't wait for a hardware emergency to go there. Go for the experience anytime! read more

Many items available that are impossible to get elsewhere in Door County. Some items are a little pricey, but that is to be expected.

I went there today to buy a few sweatshirts. I arrived 5 minutes before closing and the angry man was already locking the door. I told him that I was just running in to pick up a couple of sweatshirts because it was going to be chilly that night. He glared at me the whole time I was there and refused entrance to others who were there before closing. I spent 175.00 and was out by 3 minutes after close. Very rude and I won't be back even though I have been shopping there for years. read more

I have been going to Nelson's for 30 years and happy to support small business. I was sad and angry today to see the owner and cashier wearing a political t-shirt that is a hot button issue. Going forward I'll shop elsewhere. Also, during COVID most masks of the employees were below the chin! They clearly don't care about their community!!! read more

Absolute worst manager cashier in the service business. Who needs to be treated so rudely by a cashier or anyone for that matter. She is nasty and clearly unstable. I am not the first to complain about this woman. They will continue to lose business because of her. read more

North of Sturgeon Bay, this is the best hardware store in Door County. Most of the staff are very knowledgeable and the selection is great. They have most of the items you would need to fix just about anything. read more

As a maintenance manager for a popular area restaurant I found the staff to always be helpful and product availability to be as good as it can get in Door County. DC is a hard place to get everything, but Nelson's tries hard to get what people need in their store. read more
