It is not easy to impress me as far as medical care goes, if I am not comfortable with a practice I find someone else. I go to the Broad St office, I once asked one of the techs what the least busiest day of the week. He said Tuesdays !! I do have one complaint though, the condition of the upholstered chairs in the lobby. They are FILTHY. I prefer to stand rather than sit if none of the vinyl chairs are available. Really gross.

The doctors do not care about controlling any sort of pain…read more Their main objective is worrying about you having too much even after surgery. I cried myself to sleep two nights in a row after having back surgery and being on a ventilator for 10 days with NO SEDATION. I was told by one doctor that the pain control was a priority and my orders wouldn't change. The next doctor came on and would only give me Tylenol and he tried to give me Haladol for pain. This is after crying myself to sleep. The doctor that came on the next day said No more IV pain meds as it would constipate me even though I had just had a bowel movenment. She wanted me to take an antidepressant for a few days for pain. She did thankfully allow me to have valium every 4 hours as needed but then changed the order the next day without even telling me! And then there are the cameras in the room that turn on every so often. But when I got very upset and agitated and was crying. The nurse wanted me to shut up and when I wanted to go home and started to pull at my ekg leads, she brought another camera in the room that yelled at me even if i scratched my nose or if I tried to put my purse in a chair and God forbid I move my head because the camera yells and says to lay still. When I tried to brush my hair, it told me NOT to pull on my own hair! This is the creepiest thing I have ever been through. I am stil here and the camera has been in the room for 2 days. NEVER AGAIN will I darken the doorstep of Riverside Hospital which is a shame because the nurses (80% of them ) were fantastic and at a loss for the way the doctors treated the pain medications and letting someone writhe in pain for hours.

I loved my nurse Misty who prepared me for my procedure, and then Deb the anesthetist and Robin and Lynda the nurses who helped the doctor perform my procedure were all very kind and caring. Jilian was my nurse after, and she was really great! I really couldn't ask for any better treatment. Many thanks to all of you for your kind and professional care!
