The Canal Tours trip was better. But they ARE different and both are included on the Copenhagen Card! I had a full week in Copenhagen. The city is full of canals. I like being on the water. Put me on a boat so I can explore the city while also sitting for an hour or so and I am happy gal. So on my next-to-last day in the city, needing to kill a little time before a museum opened up, and wanting to rest my feet for a spell...I hopped on a Netto boat tour. Also...because I had already done the other boat tour included with the Copenhagen Card. The boats are a little dingier and dirtier than some other tour companies. And they pack the boats full. You may not have much personal space on a busy day. But you get a full circle tour of the city from the water and you get to be on a boat for an hour. So...*shrug* So I stand by the Canal Tours being much better. But I think as long as you get to do a boat tour during your time in town, any one will do. read more

"Look ma, I'm on a boat!" No, it's not that kinda boat, but it serves its purpose and floating along Copenhagen's canals on a clear, crisp day is really romantic. SIGH. It's so romantic, we decided to kiss every time the boat goes under the bridge. And people! there are MANY bridges on this tour, over 20 in fact, but who's counting? If you're not a romantic, the practical purpose of this tour is to catch your bearings. Whenever I'm somewhere new, I always opt for the best mode of transportation to see the city. And here, it's best seen on the water. You'll pass the famous Little Mermaid, the impressive Opera House, the upscale Christianshavn neighborhood, Vor Freslers Kirke, etc. The tour lasts about 60 minutes and costs 60 Dkk (that's only $10!) and it's the best tour given in Danish and English. I was really glad I chose this canal tour over the Stromma one at the end. I asked the lady working what the difference was and she said "they are a big international run company, we are local and only rely on this one boat tour to succeed". I instantly bought a ticket as supporting local is great. I went at the end of March so the boat was really empty which meant we could take pictures from both sides easily which was nice. For 50kr I would consider this a STEAL of a deal. I was shocked to hear that Stromma offered the exact same cruise for over twice the price. They would slow down at all of the nice sights so that we could get good pictures and the guy talking spoke perfect English and told us lots of cool facts about Copenhagen and Denmark! Honestly, for only 50kr I think I am going to go on another one tomorrow. Might as well, its the prettiest way to see the city! read more

My wife and I took the 60 minute harbor tour on what turned out to be a National Holiday. There was quite a line to board the 245pm tour on this Thursday but the boat swallowed us all up with room to spare. I think they said it can hold 120. There are several tour options here but reviews being good plus the best price we could find made it an easy choice. The tour was pleasant and our guide competently spoke in three different languages describing the sights. First stop was the little mermaid statue that we got to see from the back side. Then we wound through some narrow passages and low bridges before ending up down by the Christiansborg Palace and then back to the start. The boat rides close to the water (to get under those low bridges) and some folks got a little wet sitting by the edge. If it's a sunny day, the boat provides no shade so bring a hat or at least a refreshing beverage. Round trip was right at 60 minutes and worth it. read more

This canal tour was reasonably priced, it's actually the cheapest canal tour in Copenhagen. I see no point in paying more for the same thing. You hop on a boat and you get to see the same sights. Look for the blue-bottom boat and pay 40kronos (about $8) when you board - CASH ONLY! Our tour director was Heidi and she was great. She talks real fast so she can give information in 3 languages: Dansk, English and German. You get to see sights such as Nyhavn, the old Stock Market building, Christiansborg, Christ Our Saviour, Little Mermaid, Amalienborg, Black Diamond, etc. Remember to sit when approaching a bridge and do not be that loud, obnoxious, drunk jerk onboard - especially when there are kids. read more

Now Im not one to do the touristy shite, but we were actually convinced by the locals at Radio Restaurant that it is worth doing the canal tour. And if you look at the prices there's one that's more expensive than the other but the experiences are similar. If you go for this cheaper one it's 40DKK which is under 10 dollars US. For an hour, your get a dual Danish/English guide and you get to see the sites of Copenhagen. We had an exciting rub up against the Nyhavn harbor wall, so that was unexpected. You will not be a proper copenhagen tourist before you have taken a boat tour. It's fun especially when the weather is good and you see the most important sights at once! The netto bådene is cheaper (40dkk per person, 15dkk for kids) than the other boat tour firm and you see the same things, so check for the prices first! You can take food, beers and whatever you like on the boat to make it more fun. Most Danes have a six pack with them! I usually do it with all my visiting friends and it never dissapoints! There are two stops for the boats, one at Nyhavn and one at gammelstrand. Both very easy to find and very centrally located! In winter time they have some boats with a top so you re protected from possible rain. Try waving to people on shore. My favourite hobby when boat touring! read more

Great way to experience Copenhagen! Tour goes by the theater, the opera, the old navy base, the little mermaid, Christianshavn and some of the historic downtown area. Company is less than 100 ft from a similar company that charges double for the same exact tour. This one only costs about 6 dollars for an hour-long tour through the port and canals of Copenhagen. So....let's keep this simple. 2:45 departure time (allegedly) 2:35 time you need to be onsite 3:00 actual departure time Why?? Who knows? The staff said nothing. A man walking with a cane got on line and I could see that he was obviously asking to skip the line due to his condition. I usually don't allow skipping, but even I would have allowed this. They said, sorry for your luck sir. Now. We finally take off, the guide starts talking (muffled voice on crappy PA system) and we stop within 10 mins. To let on more people at another stop. This turned into a 10-15 minute hangout. We spent more time collecting humans for passage, than we did exploring the canals. Long story short, you get what you pay for. Definitely a solid boat ride. This tour takes you up to The Little Mermaid (If you are too lazy to walk up there yourself, though you just see the back side...) as well as the canals where people dock boats that they live in towards Christiania. The guy commenting spoke perfect English (and Danish I presume, I couldn't tell) and did a great job of pointing out the highlights of Copenhagen's waterfront and canals while still being comical and making sure the low bridges didn't chop our heads off. Do yourself a favor and choose THIS tour over the one located at the end of the canal -- it is half the price. I paid 40 DKK for the hour tour as opposed to 80 at the other stand. I would sit inside if you really want to hear the guide, as the sound isn't very good when you're sitting outside. You are taken all around to see Christiania, the Little Mermaid, the theater, the opera house, the old stock exchange, plus other things that I'm forgetting. If you want to get all the touristy sightseeing out of the way in one go, this is a must! It is cheap at 40 DKK per person and you cover a lot of ground (or water in this case). Of course your experience will vary depending on which guide you get. I've been on this twice and both times they were informative but not very engaging. All the guides speak at least Danish and English. Even if the weather is bad you could enjoy this tour under the glass canopy but your photos won't be as good. As Stephanie P. mentions, food and drink is allowed on board so you can have your very own picnic. And people like to wave at you from the shores and bridges so don't be weirded out; they haven't mistaken you for a local celebrity. I suggest this boat to all tourists who would like to see the standard sights in Copenhagen. This is one of the cheapest boat trips in Copenhagen. I recommend doing this trip on your first day. It will give you an overview what's going on and you will see most of the highlights of Cph. Avoid the overpriced Canal Tours of Copenhagen, and take the Netto-båden Canal Tour instead - it is only 40kr. I've been on this tour 3 times, and it is amazing each time! The tour guides are well informed about Copenhagen, and I would recommend sitting in the front row for a great view and to befriend the tour guide. They always have great tips since they are usually local Danish people. They usually speak in 3 languages (Danish, English, and German) - but, it depends on the type of passengers there are on the boat. This is a great way to see the major sights of city without getting blisters on your feet from walking on the cobblestones! I am NOT a person who is into doing touristy things like tours while on vacation, but upon my first visit to Copenhagen I quickly realized that the best way to see the city was by canal. So, me and the boy hopped on the first canal tour we saw. The price was relatively cheap (unlike most things in Copenhagen) and we figured we could spare an hour to check it out. Now, my boyfriend is a local of Copenhagen and had never been on a canal tour and was a bit wary. By the end he was loving it and thought it was the best way to see Copenhagen. Our tour guide spoke three languages (Danish, English and Spanish) and gave the tour in all three. She pointed out all the highlights and popular tourists sights (including the opera house, famous churches, and the Little Mermaid). Have to admit that it was nice to be able to see all the sights from the comfort of a cozy boat. No walking, no lines. Overall, we are super happy we took the tour. The price was low and the tour guide was friendly. Happy to report that the boats are electric so no guilt about polluting the environment and the ride is smooth so no worries about seasickness. read more

Awesome and reasonably priced canal tour! We found it to be significantly cheaper than its competitors. It leaves right next to Nyhavn, you cant miss it! The tour is about 60 minutes and leaves ever hour. The boat pretty much goals through all the main important touristy attractions by the water as well as through a lot of low bridges (it made you feel like you were in Amsterdam!) Our tour was in English and Danish and extremely informative. This is a must-do activity if you are in Copenhagen. One thing to mention is, if you want to see the mermaid, you only see the back of the mermaid from the tour, if you want to see the front its best you walk there! Fun little boat tour to enjoy on a sunny day. For an hour, it's surprisingly cheap at only DKK40 ($6.00) per person. They start you off in Nyhavn then past the Opera House, military vessels, The Little Mermaid, then through the lovely Chritianshavn and back to Nyhavn. It was only 40 DKK for a single adult ticket--probably the most affordable boat tour in Copenhagen. (The other ones can cost up to twice as much!) The tour starts right in Nyhavn and takes passengers out toward Chrsitianshavn, over by the royal library, around by the National Museum of Denmark, the old stock exchange, down by Copenhagen Street Food, over by the Little Mermaid, and back. There is a lot to see and photograph! The boat is uncovered and one must stay seated. It is also prohibited to touch any of the bridges as the boat passes underneath them. Other than that, the trip was fairly laid back. It's a great way to get oriented in the city as well while learning a thing or two. All the information is said on a microphone in Danish and in English. I do wish that there were more facts shared over the duration of the cruise. It may be worth paying 80 DKK and learning a lot more about the city. (I'll have to report back on this). read more

Gotta do a canal tour or you can't say you've been to CPH. Simply do it and enjoy it. It's fun. This is 100% touristy. Be a bonafied tourist. It's a whole $6 or $7 or whatever cheap fare it is; I don't know if passage is more in summer than winter. It's fun. There are a few alike tours; just pick one. I am assuming they are more or less the same dealio. You get to see the back of the Mer with all the tourists crawling around her and waving at you, the magnificent Opera House, famous architecture and stories and history. I likes the ocean views. I will do all boats next time I go. The winter snow made it even more scenic (in a different way). There were few people because of the cold that day, so a walk along the canals in addition to my ship tour made it extra special with lots of room to move about the cabin (so to speak). I can't imagine it having the same appeal in the summer with the canal streets being BOMBARDED with point and shoot peoples from wherever taking bad pictures that they will never look at. IMPORTANT: The Danes have accomplished bike riding to a whole other level. It's serious transportation for them. Do not make a wrong move and you happen to land on any bike path....it could end up being a serious situation....and I ain't kidding. It almost happened to me. read more

The tour boat behind us was talking the entire time, though unfortunately, in another language.
