Wasn't around my normal shoe store so I decided to stop in and see what the store was all about. I received excellent customer service. They measured my feet, I got my foot analyzed, and received help finding the correct shoe that fit my needs. If I am back in the area I will definitely be stopping by the store again. read more

I've worn New Balance for almost 30 years, but some sneakers I ordered from the New Balance website fit different than they usually do. So I contacted New Balance and they recommended I pay a visit to New Balance of Little Rock to have my feet professionally measured. I don't think they actually meant for me to "pay" to have my feet measured, but that's what New Balance of Little Rock wanted. This was my first visit to New Balance of Little Rock. I explained how I was told to go there by a New Balance CSR, but the response I received from the young, uninterested sales associate was that they're not affiliated with New Balance and that I'd have to pay to have my feet measured. After some reluctance, he finally agreed to measure my feet without paying up front, although I was clearly an annoyance to him. Maybe that's why the measurement he gave me was 1.5 sizes too big and certainly wrong? Seriously, you don't measure wrong by 1 1/2 sizes on accident and I certainly don't wear sneakers that are 1 1/2 sizes too small for me. You would think New Balance of Little Rock would have considered me a potential future customer, but instead there was an air of elitism, in a sneaker store selling sneakers that can be purchased anywhere. From the moment I walked through the door, I was looked at as if I didn't belong there, which is strange considering how it seems to cater to older men and that would be me. Since I love New Balance sneakers, I might have become a regular customer, if I'd had a positive experience, but the experience I had just left me sour and disappointed. The only upside is that I get to laugh while thinking about employees in a sneaker store looking down upon their customers as unworthy. I was greeted by a friendly staff member who measured my feet, watched me walk up and back and then she checked my feet for the arch and pressure points. With all that info she brought out a sneaker for me to try and they were perfect. I chose a color I liked and sneakers were sold! Would give them no stars if I could! Sold me a shoe that should be on clearance. They charged $110 and as it is last season's shoe it is all over the web for under $55! Go there to see what fits, or better yet go to your local Wal-Mart and use the Dr. Scholls' foot analyzer. You can spend $40 at the NB store or $20 at Wal-Mart for insole stabilizers. This is a quality business. Employees are helpful and knowledgeable about football problems and fitting you with superior shoes and/or orthotics. I went in with terrible pain in my feet and left with comfortable shoes and orthotics. Had virtually no pain as I left the store. Thanks! read more

Had to get some New Balance shoes, so thought the New Balance store might be the way to go. There are two shoe stores in one building that share storage space. There were only two clerks in the first space and several customers ahead of me, so I went next door, where a serious man guaranteed that he could cure CURE any future knee problems (really) by selling me some shoes that cost $360. After that I went to the first place again where the two salespeople were still trying to help everyone. After that I went to my old standby, The Sportstop, and got some excellent New Balance shoes in about 5 minutes. I should have gone there in the first place. read more

Supporting local small businesses has it's privileges. Yesterday afternoon, I limped into the New Balance store on Cantrall wearing a pair of NB 990 running shoes I had purchased from them a few months ago. The young man at the counter recognized me as a customer whom he had sold the shoes to only a few months before and offered his assistance. He looked at the shoes and determined that there was a defect and promptly went to the back and got me a brand new pair of NB 990v3, help me get them and them he waked over to the computer. I walked over to the counter, already satisfied with the service, card in hand ready to pay and he looked at me and said, "no charge, we'll just switch them out since you've only had them a short time". That caught me off guard. That is not what I was expecting at all. May be a small discount but certainly not a completely free replacement. All this took about 20 minutes, no hassles and I was grateful. Now, where do you suppose, I'll be purchasing my next pair of running shoes? You guessed it, my local New Balance store on Cantrell because they offer excellent customer support and service! read more

I have given this store several chances to prove my initial impression of them as unhelpful and rude wrong, but all three times I have been to this store the service was horrible. The three different individuals I worked with were very rude and not insightful about orthopedic foot issues whatsoever. New balance shoes are cheaper online. If you are having foot, leg, or back I would suggest hortons orthotics in LR. read more
