I purchased a 2006 BF Falcon from these guys that was sold to us as a registered and roadworthy vehicle.
My Son and I were pulled up By Highway Patrol Police just 2 weeks after purchasing this car and were told the vehicle was unregistered, My Son who is a 18 yr old learner Driver received an Infringement Notice and Fine of $720.00 for driving a un registered vehicle, what a Baptism of fire into the world of driving for a young Man having a driving lesson from his Dad and to be pulled up under flashing lights and siren from Police
.
Numerous attempts and dozens of phone calls over the coming week failed to achieve any satisfactory outcome AND RESOLUTION TO THE WHOLE ISSUE OF REGISTRATION
a number of excuses and shifting of blame from the reception staff to Vic Roads still failed to get this vehicle legally registered.
The end result was for me having to pay the registration as we could not drive the Falcon as it sat in the driveway for a week and was not able to be driven until I knew it was legally Registered,
I had a follow up inspection carried out from a local VACC Authorised Motor Vehicle Trader who discovered numerous major and Minor Roadworthy issues that had failed to be Identified just weeks prior, Major issues that were claimed to be repaired were not repaired, these were Identified through a RACV Inspection I had carried out,
Just remember this car was sold as a Registered and Roadworthy Vehicle .
I had to chase up for reimbursement for Registration payment I made,
I asked Newbourne Motors if they would provide me with a letter of explanation as to why the registration had not been paid by Newbourne Motors, for me to present towards our case in our application for review and in the hope of having the fine withdrawn as Newbourne were the cause of our deli-ma,
But true to form there was no letter forth coming and we are now awaiting for a response from the review panel of Civic Compliance Victoria to withdraw the fine and the possibility of this being handled through Small Claims and Department of Consumer Affairs if the review application is denied. Newbourne Motors failed to comply with the legal requirements under the Motor Car Traders Act
I never ever got the promised return phone call when they stated they would .
I made the decision to carry the costs of all repairs to bring this car to a Roadworthy state and prepared to bare the costs to avoid ever having to deal with these people ever again
BUYER BEWARE.
NEWBOURNE TO ME ARE A NO GO ZONE. read more
