Tried out this buffet for the first time and of course it was almost impossible to not compare it to Fuji Buffet in Mentor. This place is smaller with less choices but their price is also less- about 4 bucks less than Fuji. So the question is... Is the cheaper price worth coming back? I say No. Why? Because of the quality. Fuji has higher quality food. The food is hotter and it just tastes better. The food at New China buffet was oily. The eggrolls, and even the broccoli had a coating of oil on them, which was very un-appetizing. And several of the dishes were lukewarm instead of being hot. That was yucky. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is definitely older and out of style, but if the food is great, I would not care.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It all comes down to the food!! They do have sushi and it was good. But it wasn't any better than the sushi at Fuji. So we probably got our moneys worth, but if I really want to go to a China buffet again, I'm pretty sure I'll end up back at Fuji Buffet. I'll start off with the food is great as well as the selection. However, on a recent visit, I noticed several things that just lessened the overall experience. More important things first. It seemed that some of the food was slow in being replaced. So some pickings were not so hot or fresh. The staff needs to up their game in the friendliness department. Smiles go a long way. They are old and so close to dinning area that who wants to hear that when you have brought your family for a pleasant meal? They look ancient[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]].[[HIGHLIGHT]] But no more Ancient than the area carpet which looks like it's over 100 years old and hasn't been cleaned since. It has tatters here and there[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. You could probably find something nicer at Home Depot.[[HIGHLIGHT]] Again this is aesthetics. Lets not forget the men's restroom. Whoa. You'll be ok if you brought a spare hazmat sui[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]t[[HIGHLIGHT]]. Again over all it's a nice place but it needs to be brought into the 20th century....and then the 21st century..[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]].. ATTENTION PEOPLE this place COULD have a 5 star rating. every time you go in past 8:00 they are closed. why have signs posted with hours, an open sign and a thing online saying that you're open until 9 if you're goons close at 8 or earlier. your sign was on and your doors were open so why not stay open like you should have. the only reason i go in there is because the food is actually pretty decent but everything else there sucks. I've been coming to this restaurant for over 20 years, back when it was in its previous location in the same plaza. I've seen servers come and go and food quality vary over the years, but I still go there 2-3 times a month. The current girls there are wonderful, the food is ok, and prices are beginning to make me scratch my head wondering if it's still worth the price. Before COVID I would eat there every week. Now, not so much - just based on prices and food quality. At $4.99 for lunch in 2017, it was amazing. But in 2025, it's double that, and the food quality is worse. I usually go to Market Street instead - but sometimes you have a taste for Chinese. Nothing special, nothing terrible, just sad that things always seem to change for the worse. read more

My friends and I were there for lunch today. The lady ( manager) at the door was very rude and unpleasant..The service was terrible and the food was dry, as if they saved it and warmed it up . They were very nice when first walking in. We paid and then they sat us. They kept coming around to make sure our drinks were still good and if we needed more. The food is actually better than expected especially if you're just craving something. However, there isn't many options for the sushi which is slightly disappointing. Definitely should stop by and see if you like it though. read more

The staff is very friendly and the waitress is very attentive. The price has went up but the food quality stays mediocre at best. The crab Rangoon has little to no flavor, just cream cheese. Went on a Saturday around 6 pm and was greeted and seated quickly. Its a buffet so there's no waiting for a server, drop your coat at your table and load up. Table wasn't as clean as I would like, and some splatters on the wall were less than appetizing. Now people PLEASE keep in mind you can actually make more than one trip so making Kilimanjaro height plates of food isn't necessary, go back if you want more people!! The food selection was good and everything was full, the fried rice was super hot and very good ...the mystery meat on a stick was extremely moist, fresh and hot. I do love that particular buffet offering. The sushi was ok, not bad but ok but I don't go to buffets for sushi if it was I'd be going to a sushi buffet, I'm here for hot foods and variety. The servers were quick to remove plates but not once asked if either of us wanted more water. I was disappointed that there wasn't chocolate pudding ? Luckily there was the bananas with the red stuff on them. Remember its a China BUFFET, not a candle light restaurant go in with that in mind and you'll be fine its a good value for the money. June 2021-this place has changed, still decent food but all Covid precautions are gone. No plastic gloves, no masks, and the girl only cleaned the booths with a wet dish rag, no cleaning products. Price has also gone up for the buffet, $6.99 for lunch and $9.49 for dinner, not Including drinks. Not a good value anymore for the price. Glad to still have chines buffet options. It's small but food was fresh and was kept filled. Prices are high for the limited selection (was charged full adult prices for a 7 year old but I think it was because the person at the registers error). For five dollars this buffet is so worth it. There are endless choices for food and desert. There are at 4 long tables with different foods on each side. The foods are so good and the endless choices in deserts are unique and delicious. I recommend the crab and vegetable lo mein. Also the Chinese donuts are so good. We come from Ashtabula often just to come here. We aren't really into Buffets but this is the best Chinese ever. The food is always so delicious. There is never not a time that it isn't busy there. To start with the price was very cheap.However after getting some food My Wife got some mussels and out of the 2 (1)had some odd small what to look like bugs or so,She could not continue to finish anything else.I went to pay,the cashier took My debit card behind the check out counter and completed My purches.There was no stand alone like usual check out! On the way home had to pull over to the roadside as My Wife had to vomit!! Two(2)days later My debit card had a $103.75 charge to a web site that I never made.I called the bank,with their manager for dispute line,had a three (3) way conversation with the website,to get a refund to My account that was fraudulently used.That is the only ever time that I had used My card in over a week. BEWARE ,!!!!!! Can't really prove anything but never had a compromise on My bank card in over 30+ years.I will never go back there I don't care how cheap the price is for eating.The wife was sick for over 36hrs.
