I have one graduate from Forsyth and two children who currently attend the school. It has been amazing to see how prepared my oldest child was when she started at a local, independent 7-12 secondary school upon graduation from Forsyth. Her transition was seamless and we have Forsyth to thank! My two kids who still attend Forsyth are very different children and I have been so thankful for the teachers' abilities to really know my kids from both a learning and emotional perspective. The individual attention the kids at Forsyth receive is priceless.

Forsyth School is by far one of the most prestigious private elementary schools (K-3 through 6th…read moregrade) in the St. Louis area. Forsyth takes a unique holistic approach to child development and education, through its "Challenge" program which is the foundation upon which the Forsyth curriculum is structured. Located adjacent to Washington University and across from Forest Park, Forsyth School has an unforgettable campus with classrooms in six repurposed, historic houses. Forsyth is all about challenge; with support from great teachers and classmates; and independence of thought and expression. It's a place where personal best counts: on the field, on the stage, in the classroom, and on the high ropes course in the the Forsyth Adventure Center. It's a place to stretch beyond your comfort zone; memory mapping, Shakespeare plays, and challenge days. Here children develop critical thinking skills; they learn that if they work hard, they can accomplish difficult and complex projects. Forsyth graduates are well prepared for the most selective secondary schools. Remember, you get what you pay for so tuition cost is moderate. Can you put a price on your child's education? Forsyth also offers after school care and Summer Camps!

We wanted them to learn, of course, but we also wanted to make sure they were welcomed and recognized for their own unique personalities and interests. My wife and I believe a great school must know and understand each child as an individual, while also having the resources, programs, and experts required to challenge and inspire our children. Community School has exceeded our expectations. The teachers do a wonderful job of working in small groups with the kids so that they truly understand each child's strengths and challenges. They "get" each one of our kids. But it goes beyond that as well. They encourage the students to find something that they feel passionate about and then push them to pursue that interest. My oldest son is proud that the school trusts him to choose his own projects in woodshop or sign a contract for independent work in math. For my daughter, Community will always be the place that encouraged her to be comfortable on a stage in front of an audience. Community is a special place. My children head out the door excited for school every single day. They love it even more than we do.

First, the teachers are all so caring and get to know your child more than any other school we've experienced. Second, the Individualized Learning that is promoted throughout the school really allows your child to flourish according to their strengths. For example, if your child is good at math, they can accelerate and not be held back like most settings. Every child is ensured of meeting grade standards, however. It really feels like children are learning differently these days, and St. John is at the forefront of an innovative approach. Lastly, a Christian education is important to us, and St. John embodies a Christian learning experience that we desire. My kids love going there and we can't imagine a better environment for them.

First I've never seen a school that allows their student to have class outside for much of the day. Most schools I have taught chess at have classes on the inside and the students only would come out for recess. I taught chess at Agape for a few semesters and the students were a blast to teach. In fact, there were various ages from early childhood to Elementary. They even conducted their own stage plays. If you are looking for a school that's different from the rest, I would highly recommend sending your child to Agape Adventure Learning
