I have probably left a review for my wonderful dentist, Dr. Golnar, on Yelp before. But every time I walk out of an appointment, I feel like telling everyone of this excellent doctor. I have seen a number of dentists and periodontists in my life--and Dr. Golnar is truly the best. Her professionality, skill, and compassionate manner always make me feel relaxed and comfortable, even during a difficult procedure. I highly recommend Dr. Golnar for even the complex dental problems. I would also like to mention that there is a new(?), or new to me, dental assistant at this office. I had an appointment this Monday, June 29. The dentist was great., my problem is with Gabriela. She went into the exam room to tell me there was a lack of communication because the dentist was going to do three fillings instead of two and I should convey that to him. Since when is it my job to tell the dentist what to do. I know he was press for time but she should have not come in there when I was numb . She probably was breaking some HIPAA laws, where was my privacy. I need to spend over $2,000 in your office but now I DO NOT want to come back if I am going to in insulted and treated without respect. She needs an attitude adjustment and should not be dealing with patients. DO NOT go to this office (Danbury)!! I called their office after being rejected from my current dentist (no avail appts) on Fri for an emergency, a cracked/fractured tooth that literally had 2 fang type sharp bones cutting into my tongue causing a gash which was bleeding & causing me pain, couldn't talk, swallow or eat. I was frantically calling all afternoon trying to find a dentist that accepts my insurance either offices were closed til Tue or it was a 1800-Dental type referral service appearing to be local I came across New England Dental & reached the office manager who is a pompous ass, rude arrogant & disrespectful -Scolding me when I asked if he's a dentist- after all the calls I made & unable to reach a "real" human dentist it made sense to ask, then preached they don't do subpar care, my dentists are the best blah blah & then because I was defending myself & became loud (not offensive) as a result of HIS behavior & sarcastic attitude & inability to listen he was concerned if I came to the office I might cause a scene??!! Then he lures me into the office - never saying they will or they won't file it down - I got 2 bite wing x-rays plus the expensive panoramic imaging of entire mouth, the male dentist looked in my mouth & I thought we'd discuss xrays - NOPE, he decided he wouldn't file it, the tooth needed to be removed, walked away & HE never discussed with me but told arrogant ofc manager? who then relayed to me with a nasty& demeaning tone he insisting that the tooth needed to be pulled,(I had no choice in matter) since I wasn't ready to have it pulled at this moment they refused to work on me & sent me away in pain, not even suggestions I can do myself to relieve the pain However, they we're quick to bill my insurance for expensive xray's when they already decided before I arrived he wouldn't be fixing the tooth never received a cleaning, exam or any other services from that oh so good dentist just unwarranted unnecessary expensive xray DON'T GO read more

I visited this office in 2025 and was told I needed a root canal and had five cavities. When I asked to see or have the X-rays explained clearly, I did not feel I was given a transparent or thorough explanation. I also felt pressured toward expensive procedures without enough evidence being shown to me. Because of how uncomfortable the situation felt, I decided to get a second opinion in early 2026. Another dentist evaluated me, adjusted my bite, and determined that I did not need a root canal. At a follow-up cleaning with X-rays, I was told I had no cavities. This large difference in diagnosis raised serious concerns for me. I also made the office aware of my condition and that I may need clearer communication and patience during appointments. I did not feel those needs were acknowledged or accommodated. The communication felt rushed and dismissive, which made the experience more stressful. Due to the lack of transparency, the pressure for treatment, and the way my concerns were handled, I no longer feel comfortable returning. I strongly recommend getting a second opinion before agreeing to major dental work here. read more

Extremely disappointed with New England Dental. I was told that the only solution for my case was tooth extraction. Since I didn't feel confident with that diagnosis, I sought a second opinion at Aspen Dental, where I was informed that the tooth didn't need to be removed at all--only a deep cleaning was necessary. If you are on a HUSKY dental plan and New England Dental (esp Brookfield office)( is your only option, keep looking or proceed with great caution. You will never see the same dentist twice, your dentist will not (be able to) discuss treatment or your dental issues with you (because he or she will be off to the next exam room before you can ask), they will change your appointment time without consulting with you, and might bully you into making a cleaning appointment you don't want. For all of the above you will never be confident that the procedure(s) they do are the right ones for you read more

Had a routing dental cleaning and walked out needing multiple fillings, root canal, crown and dental bridge. Wow! All that from one visit. Was told I would get paperwork from dentist explaining the need for such extensive work. Received NOTHING. Did not feel comfortable at all. Do NOT TRUST them. As can be seen from many of the reviews which I should have paid attention to, the office manager is terrible, very rude. The "gentleman" was very disrespectful to my wife, myself and an insurance representative from Anthem we had on shared call, just because they were not from the United States. The office also canceled my wife's appointment the day before even after they had prior authorized her insurance 10 days ago. The office also waited 3 months to submit the claim work which messed up my deductible already paid that did not show up on Delta Dental. This office "manager" also hung up the phone on me when I called about the missing claim for help, He is a very arrogant child that should find another line of work not dealing with people. This place is a joke, the girl that works at the front desk is a miserable lazy person, anytime I call she has a horrible attitude and I can't even hear what she's saying because she mumbles so badly, you can just tell she hates her job and makes the patients experience horrible. Oh and they need a manager to access patients profiles supposedly, this place sucks and the manager is trash as well no body likes to do their job at New England Dental , I'd give them a negative one out of five. read more

If I could give this facility zero stars on here I would. Not only are they unethical with their practice, the waiting room and patient rooms were filthy. You clearly are just a number there. My cleaning was so rushed and I have never experienced a cleaning like that, not sure you could even consider it a cleaning. I was a patient and called with a dental emergency. The language on their website stated that they will accommodate emergencies for patients on the same day during operational hours. This is basically a load of crap. The person I spoke with was unhelpful on many levels. While I admittedly have not been into their Danbury office since COVID the office was not very clean but the dentist was amazing. I hope she is working someplace that is credible as this organization is not in my opinion. Ironically, I ended up here several years ago to have an emergency root canal done and the my were able to get me in because of a bad snowstorm. They were literally the only dentist open .... I guess anything to make a buck. Regardless, I'm done with them and can't genuinely recommend them to anyone. I'm now on their "bad patient" list because I simply hung up on the guy who told me he couldn't help so I'll take my win and move on. read more

I am shocked at the lack of patient care and customer service. The dentist started my root canal but got frustrated at how long it was taking to clean out the pulp in the tooth. She must of had plans cause she passed me off the other dentist to finish it. It never felt secure or healed. I called once my face swelled up. They did see me within 2 days and gave me antibiotics, but the swelling did not go down so I called again and was told I have to deal with it for over a month till the specialist could see me. I was told having an infection for over a month is no big deal and I should just do as Im told and its my fault for not taking care of my teeth. The people and the location are all garbage! brought my girl friend there because her other location on Federal road sent her. She was already on edge because of the pain. And these guys basically kicked her while she was down! These people were absolutely horrible. Rude as can be, didn't do anything for her pain. Basically told her to suck it up. They then scheduled an appointment with the oral surgeon. They told her If she missed the appointment they wouldn't deal with her again. Based on the two appointments she missed back when she was pregnant. Little do they know she had such a traumatic experience there, she already scheduled an appointment with another dentist. So thanks to Newengland Dental or more precisly therre office manager deciding to "Show Me How things work" as he said after giving permission to go to my car so I could use my Ambasal I was in so much pain (esp after multiple Xray's) than literally Locking the door as soon as I walked out and closing For the day refusing to at the least call in an antibiotic seeings by the time I had gotten that Apt I was already 3 Days into a major infection which there Xrays clearly showed Leaving me to find a new dentist which out of every Local Office Tues was thd soonest Apt I could Get Leaving my infection another 5 days (8 Days total ) before I could receive Antibiotics which By than It had Traveled to the two neighboring Teeth and my jaw Causing my entire face became swollen and Bright Red Which thankfully The Dentist I found was able to extract all Effected Teeth and literally Scrape the infection out of my jaw... Another day or so and It would have become either Blood/Brain Borne and I would be lucky to still be here as it is my body is still fighting the infection over a week later it had gotten so severe all Because the office manager Decided to lock up and close for the day after just giving me permission to go to my car after taking the Xrays... not only did it nearly become life threatening it caused me to loose more than just the first infected tooth and any chance of implants from the damage to my jaw and s massive bill for what would have been covered by insurance due to not being able to get any appointments at a dentist in network.... what happened to the "Do no Harm" aspect of medical professionals? read more

Its so funny to read in the reviews that everyone has had an issue with the Indian guy manager as I have! He is the reason why I left and im so much happier were I am now. He trys to be intimidating but he's not fooling me. First time I went there he tried to tell me what I should do and have done first which was to expensive to do at the moment. I told him what I wanted to have fixed first and this unprofessional moron had the nerve to say if thats what you want to do in my opinion is a stupid idea I couldn't belive what I was hearing I pretty much laughed at what I was hearing as I just smiled at him as to let him know you don't intimidate me or tell me how to spend my money or what I should have done. Everytime I went there he's been so unbelievably rude! I don't understand how he's still sitting behind that tight desk! Everytime I'm done w/ my appointment they send me over to this im not having that as I start walking right by him he try to call me to his desk I just smile at him and say I'm good and keep walking off. When I have to call ro book an appointment normally its the receptionist job to book it not at this place its torture im always told ok ill let the manager know and he'll call you with an availability??? As I have told her no I dont want to talk to that moron I even told her how can you stand to work next to that guy? I can't say enough good things about this place. Yes, the wait times can get long, but for the kind of care you receive, it is more than worth it. My previous dentist had retired and I never dreamed that I would soon after find the same quality of care that I had grown accustomed to over the years. However, New England Dental proved me wrong. This office provides a genuine personalized experience through every step of the process. The entire team tries to get to know you and understand your needs. You are greeted with a warm smile upon arrival and you don't have to wait long at all before you are taken into the room. The team explains the process clearly and helps you feel comfortable throughout your entire visit. They were quite cheerful and friendly and overall cared about my well being. I now look forward to my appointments with the hygienist who carries a pleasant conversation as she performs a thorough and painless cleaning. On my last visit I had my root canal done by Dr. Daniela Marinescu who explained the procedure and checked to see how I was feeling through the entire process. I was quite happy with her and the whole process. I was worried about finding a new dentist in the area but this office and its staff made it painless (no pun intended) I now look forward to my appointments and recommend New England Dental to anyone in the Danbury or surrounding areas. read more

One star is only for good doctors. The person I will tell about ruins all good in this place. Here is my experience ... I am a long time patient who also brought to this facility my entire family (husband and two sons). On March 22nd I had a schedule appointment for root canal but on March 19th during my baby's dr appointment I was told about potential medical procedure and had to reschedule my dental appointment, so I called right away and left the message. In meantime two days before the appointment New England front desk lady called to confirm my appointment so I figured out nobody probably got my message and called back. I was transfered to manager ... (let's call him Mr N, btw I knew that sooner or later I will be in very uncomfortable situation due to his personality and the way how he treated patients and also employees, I always prefer to deal with Mike) ... who I wanted to explain the situation but he kept interrupting me, constantly raising his voice, questioning if I really called, who i spoke to, what time, trying to prove I lie, yelling on me that I'm cancelling long appointment (I always, absolutely always kept my appointments there but now have a real emergency and btw ... well ... at least this day patients will have theirs visits on time, usually there is waiting time 45-90 min) etc; he was commenting whatever I wanted to say but had no chance to finish any single sentence. I told him I will check my phone and tell him exact time time I called on March 19th. And listening to his rude speech I checked my phone and figured out I called the number changing one of "0"s to "1" but still was not able to tell anything. The way how he talked to me simply led me to crying and I only said I will call later when will calm down and hang up. I couldn't talk. I'm almost 50 yrs old, I'm the mother, educated and serious person and nobody in my entire life treated me like that. I am sorry I am losing good dentists but I am not going to be a patient of this place anymore. Not long after they filled several cavities for me, I went in complaining of sore gums where the work had been done. They did x-rays and a visual exam and told me it didn't even look red or swollen. I went home pacified, but still uneasy and with no diagnosis. Over the next few days, the soreness intensified to full-fledged pain requiring an unsafe amount of ibuprofen to manage. The nurse at my local urgent care diagnosed an ulcer in my gums. I called NED to arrange a follow-up visit- I assumed the ulcer had fully developed after they saw me, and now they'd be able to see the problem. Before I could tell the receptionist about UrgentCare's diagnosis, he pulled up my chart and mentioned that the doctor had diagnosed an ulcer during my visit. I was never given a verbal or written diagnosis- she told me she saw nothing abnormal and the "gums are healthy". Now that we had a diagnosis, I told the office manager I was taking a "dangerous amount of ibuprofen for pain management" and asked for a prescription for a proper painkiller. He told me to just keep doing what I was doing. I'm finding a new dentist. read more

Not friendly and not clean.. There are too many doctors in this practice. When I was there, there was loud arguing between the doctor and the x-ray technician about what he asked for and what she had done. Uncomfortable atmosphere to say the least. I was in several rooms during my appointment and in each one the walls were dirty and scuffed with dust balls in the corners. I would not go back. read more

I recently moved to Connecticut and had to search for a new dentist. It seems I got lucky on my first try with my recent experience with New England Dental. I made my appointment with Gabriella the receptionist who was very helpful and courteous over the phone and in person. Dr. Ilyas did a great job explaining the procedure I needed done and with the procedure itself. The office was clean and there was barely any waiting time when I went in for my appointment. Wait time is horrible. I waited over 40 minutes past my appt. time. When Dr. Sheikh M. Ilyas came into the room he asked how I was feeling and answered for me before I could even express my tooth pain. Then he spent literally less than 10 minutes assessing and drilling my tooth (WITHOUT ANESTHESIA). He didn't even bother to inquire whether I wanted to be numbed or not, just went ahead and started drilling. I went to him months before when he drilled too much and overworked my tooth prompting the need to get a root canal. I was stupid enough to go back to him for more work done on that tooth. He again shaved away too much and said I would need to come back for a crown. Angrily, I told him he needed to add more filling (and when he did, it wasn't smoothed down well enough) He was rushing the whole time. At one point he moved onto the next patient stating that he will "come back to me in a few minutes" I will get a crown somewhere else. DON'T TRUST HIM. He's just out to get money from you! read more
