I'm a fellow practitioner of martial arts. In fact, I teach martial arts, mostly for free to use for anti-bullying and self-defense in our neglected public school systems. I reached out to these folks to get to know them, the gentleman that answered the phone hung up on me when he found out that I wanted to introduce myself as a fellow teacher. He informed me that their martial art was superior, that it picked up where mine left off and fell short, and that because I was competition this is where our conversation would end and then he hung up on me. My wife and children laughed and said, "sounds like the mean guys off that karate kid show." This is a direct reflection of the leadership being cast down to students inside of that Training Hall, do with that as you see fit. As for you all worrying about me stealing your business and being your competition, most of the work we do is free. We are still attending over two years later! We plan to continue to black belt and beyond. Students…read moreadvance regularly at 3 month intervals as long as they come to classes and practice, with minimum six months between black belt tests. Master Eun is still as wonderful as he was on our first day and he teaches every class except on very rare occasions when another instructor fills in (but they teach just like him). The higher degree black belts (4th +) he has who help test are just as encouraging as he is. They practice with the kids before testing begins and help them do their best. Testing is about showing off what they know, not humiliating them for any lack. It's always encouraging even if the kids feel stressed having all eyes on them (understandable! But no shame ever comes from the leaders). Master Eun is big on teaching leadership, humility, and respect and he models those values, too. I'm still so glad we became involved with EMAC! The kids have made many friends here and they see them outside of class time which is a blessing!

Some rooms, don't have equipment and looks like they planning to close. They should demolish this building and build a new one. I was told that the TV screen will be fixed soon & it has not been in 4 months. It is 0.3 miles from home & that part is good. If I did not need Elliptic machine I would have not signed up. The manager said they don't accept free vouchers for disabled persons. Have not done any classes due to minimal choices of classes. The yoga room looks dirty and old. No place for a wall, needed for certain type of exercise. Have not tried aerobic classes. They are closed Saturday and Sunday; which is bad for working people. The manager is rude and i had to pay extra to sign up. There are so many stairs, and turns, up and down and the carpet looks like crap. I will be looking for something better. The only advantage is the distance. That is it.
