So I was looking for something not super expensive, since I had not budgeted for this expense. Budget kitchen was getting rid of a ton of showroom/floor models. I got a six foot run of base and wall cabinets, plus a countertop for $400. The cabinets are solid maple, with beautiful bronze finished knobs/hardware. The drawers all have that silent/slow close feature. It was strictly cash and carry, and I estimate the retail value was at least $1500-2000. The floor room people were nice on the phone and at the store. The counter is laminate, but very closely resembles granite/quartz and has a fancy double ogee finish. I can't speak to their installation skills or how their workmanship/work schedule, but I can tell you that the cabinets and countertop were gorgeous and have held up surprisingly well in a well used corporate housing unit. In fact, I'm gutting another kitchen and may be calling them to see if they have more showroom models they're trying to get rid of!

We were going to use a big company lowes home depot etc but though we want to use a local company not a big chain. MISTAKE!!!!! Everything was going fine we ordered everything paid over 12 grand and were excited to have a new kitchen. After the check was cashed it was impossible to get the owner who we were dealing with (John) on the phone. The work started and the first day came and went no problem. Oh they pick the contractor if you don't know one and we went with there guys. The only new thing in the kitchen was the facet and we told both John and the workers to save it Befor work had started. I was at home the second day and one of the guys came up to me and asked where's the facet. I said you were to save it. They said they threw it out so went and spent another 75 dollars for another new one. They said they had to get some flex tub, washers and PVC pipe prob about 10 dollars worth. The job was complete and I some what happy there was some damage to a couple cabinets and two counter tops. Once again tried to get John on the phone with no success. About a month later I get a mean letter saying I owe the $23.10 that's right 23 stinking bucks after spending over 12 grand for there workers mistake. I paid and thought it was over. Two months later we bought a new washer and when my plumber was installing it I inquired to low water pressure in the kitchen. The open the cabinet under the sink and turned to me and asked " who did this work it's all wrong. " The one workers son who did the work was not a lic plumber and the house would not pass inspection if we tried to sale. Wrong size traps , broke my 2 new facet and a lot more that would take too long go list. I called the county and had told who did the work that they were going to pay for it I would sue. He did and admitted his son was NOT a plumber. When I voiced my displeasure to John he said it was not his problem. Remember these Are there people not mine. When I said that I was not happy and could have saved money using lowes home depot he said we should have used them. WOW ! Got everything taken care of with a lot of phone calls and a couple threats from a friend who is a lawyer. It's was a big pain in the you know what and would not ever use them again even. There is a lot more that happen but I do have a life I need to get back to. Wish I could give them a negative 5 stars but I can't. U HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!!

A year later, we find that although we paid for real wood, we were cheated out and we see our cabinets and internals slowly falling apart due to cheap materials in certain spots. We thought we were comparing apples to apples but truly the product we received was incorrect and inferior. We reached out twice to the Columbus Brothers and received no response. It may seem attractive to go with them at first, but really I think it would be best to avoid choosing this business if you want long term results and quality service.

They made understanding us and our house equal priorities. They educated us about the condition of the house, brought in an engineer, and designed projects around improving and reinforcing the house. They found and corrected issues created by the house's original builder. They work well coordinating their work with other contractors. With one exception, there were no call-backs. A minor installation error discovered years later was cheerfully and promptly fixed as a warranty item, a reflection on their commitment to their clients.
