The staff are generally pretty friendly with a good sense of humour, and there always seems to be so many of them working in the small kitchen area. The portions of food that they dish out are large, and the special fried rice that they make here is always packed with plenty of meat and cashew nuts; One of my favourites. They have a smorgasbord here too, where you can pick and make your own concoction of Chinese food. There is an art to stacking those plastic smorgasbord containers though that I haven't quite mastered yet. By the end of it, the mountain of food looks a bit like Jenga!

This time we came for dinner along with several dozen of my wife's work colleagues for a early celebration of the Chinese New Year, hosted by her boss. We had a small selection of wines for each table , of which I chose to have some of the Villa Maria Viognier. Nothing special , but it went down well with me. As for the eating or maybe as is common with a lot of Chinese dinners it should be loosely called " feast " there was food aplenty....coming out so quickly that as I have found when eating such in other restaurants it becomes difficult to squeeze all the dishes onto the table. But we managed. As for each separate dish I could not name them all, though I can say there was lobster , pork, pigs ear , duck and more. I have to admit it was the first duck I have tasted for a long time...and can honestly say it tasted pretty good, almost on a par with the duck we tried in one of the more famous duck restaurants in Beijing. Just lacking in the chef coming and slicing it in front of you as is done in Beijing plus a few other traditional methods they have there. Anyway I had a taste of everything and have no bad words to say...all delicious and worthy of the 5 stars. And of course the service was good as well. A very enjoyable night!!

Sure it's nothing special, no excessive decorating, you have to go through kitchen to get to toilet, handwritten ..some misspelt extras to the menu written on card sheets on the wall and no flash tables or chairs, but we like it how it is that's why we keep coming back ...and back again. The service is friendly, good atmosphere, nice food and the price is really good especially when comparing what you get to other places out there. Anyway specifically about the food...we have tried several different dishes over time but have now come to the point where we love it so much that we just order the whole duck everytime...this is eaten two ways ( 两吃 ) and maybe sometimes we order some veges too. The staff were efficient and runned off their feet, but could do with a smile. The food was as good as any Chinese restaurants and the portions huge. We doggie bagged several containers from each table. We had plain chicken and duck. The roast pork is a specialty of the house and is definitely good. We liked the beans fried with mince. Wednesday 2nd April…read more Purchased Honey Chicken Fried Rice & 10 Mini Spring Rolls. I sat and waited for my food. 2 workers were on at the time. The woman who is always in their & a man. I watched the man heat the sauce and place in a small container, he proceeded to reheat a bowl that was sitting on the bench and place in a plastic bag with the sauce. I tried asking him if that were mine, not sure if he was ignoring me or if he couldn't understand me. He nodded yes. The lady approached me and asked if I had a problem, I said yes I would like fresh food, she started yelling and cussing. I told her I'm 6 months pregnant. The man started making the fresh fried rice. The woman made my spring rolls and threw them across the bench for me to retrieve. Now it looked to me, that someone never collected their order so they tried to give it to me. The worst part is the lady seemed like she wasn't doing anything wrong, that to me is outrageous.
