Hired New Growth and told David Covington is he first thing I wanted was a level flat backyard. He assured me that would not be a problem. When he "finished", I questioned him about how it had many low spots all over the yard. He told me it would "fill in". A year later, the backyard is anything but flat. My husband is a disabled vet, and he fell when trying to walk on the backyard. My granddaughters cannot run on it, only because they risk falling. My biggest mistake was paying him in full. Removal of the large tree and trimming of several others was done very efficiently. I recommended him to someone else, who then hired him. They responded to the request for a quote within an hour and came the next day to give the quote. They were fair and informed us of choices we might have. They were able to get our job in and completed it in a few days. The new bed looks great and they left the front lawn looking great! My yard was a dirt patch full of roots, rocks and stickers. New Growth got me an estimate for a sod install (fescue turf, front and back yard) the day after I called them and were able to start the job in less than a week. The owner, David, was extremely professional and courteous as were all of his crew members. They completed the entire project (which included relatively extensive prep work) in three days, start to finish. My new lawn looks amazing! And the cost was very reasonable. Called company and spoke to owner David on Thursday. Said he would be here to give me an estimate for yard work the next day, Friday. He never showed up to give me the estimate. When I texted to find out about when he would be here, he said he was sorry but he was very busy and would not be able to do the job for at least six weeks. I told them the day before on Thursday, that I would need the work done within a week. They were dishonest, unreliable, and extremely poor communication and customer service. I cannot vouch for their work, as I would not consider doing business with a company with such poor reliability and dishonesty! read more

I called to get an estimate for de thatching and aerating. I was told they would drop by my house and give me an estimate. I did not hear from anyone in four days so I text them back. He apologized and said he would stop by later. It's been 11days. read more

I hired David to level my yard, replace Fescue with Bermuda, and create a hardscape patio extension of pavers. David assured me that he could do this in a timely manner. He chose the date to begin the project, had me sign a contract, and collected a down payment of half the quoted cost. He did not start when he promised, and when his crew of one, Chris, showed up, he asked me what he was supposed to do. David had not communicated the scope of the project or even that day's task to Chris. The project quickly went downhill from there. I ask David what the timeline was on completing the project, and he quoted me 3-5 days. Three weeks past the actual start date of the project, the pavers were not installed, the old sod was not fully removed, and the ground was not prepped for the laying of new sod, yet pallets of sod was delivered and stacked blocking a public walkway, and not watered for 5 days. I had an assessment of the project from two independent landscapers, who told me that the ground was 10-14 days away from being prepared to have new sod laid, and that the sod that had been delivered would not be viable. David indicated a willingness to complete the project by completing the hardscape while waiting on the timing to kill all previous grasses before laying new sod, then ordering and laying freshly cut sod when the ground was properly prepared. The next day, David sent me a text saying that he was no longer willing to complete the project, and said he would be refunding part of my initial deposit. I asked for an accounting of time and material, and was told that I'd be given what he wanted me to have. Four days later, I contacted David asking for my accounting and refund, and was told that no refund would be given. He did give an accounting of hours worked, but the timestamps on my security camera footage do not add up to the hours he claimed to have worked. I have yet to have an accounting of materials that he has billed to my project. I do not recommend this company. read more
