Well, Sunrise does the best chow mein I have ever come across in a silver cardboard box. But, because this is by far the best thing on the menu, I can't really call it the ultimate Chinese takeaway. The spring rolls and other little snacks are just too greasy, while the prawn crackers are usually a little bit soggy. But Sunrise does do the important thing - main meals - right. Let's face it, you're probably not going to order just spring rolls or prawn toast, because that's not what a Chinese takeaway is about - you're going to get a huge meal, and if you're using Sunrise, it should be the chow mein.

It's one of the roomiest, poshest interiors you'll experience from a Chinese takeaway, so waiting for your shiny silver box of delights is actually quite pleasurable. The food itself was good enough - me and my companion shared some prawn toast, spring rolls, and a prawn chow mein and it was all very pleasant and quickly served by friendly staff. All in all, it was a slightly upmarket Chinese takeout ordeal, which made a pleasurable change, and I'm sure I'll be returning if I'm ever in the area again.
