Wonderful church that is very friendly and welcoming. Never belligerent when inviting folks to church. Not a holier then thou kind of atmosphere. Just a church that realizes us sinners need Jesus, because on our own we're a mess. read more

Best church ever! Pastor Tharp and the staff are true blue men who love Jesus and people. The feeling of welcome and friendliness is like no other. Just a place where us sinners can hear from the Lord. Which is what we need! read more

I have these zealots continuously trying to shove their pamphlets down anyone's throats that they see. Every single year they sell fireworks off 24 highway and are higher than anyone else's throats. I'm not a super religious person but I'm a good person. I pray, do good deeds for others, and I know that as long as I'm a kind, giving person who loves God and others. I'm not OK with this church due to the fact the members try shoving it down your throats even if you tell them you aren't interested. read more

This church is unlike any other. I was saved and baptized at this church. The people here love on you and your kids, I never felt unwelcome or out of place. They have programs for kids, and a bus ministry that travels in Independence and beyond to make sure people can come to church. If you're looking for a church to call HOME look no further. Pastor Tharp is an amazing Pastor. 5/5! read more

He does not back away from the tough subjects or questions but invites them so that we as Christians can grow stronger in our faith and our relationship with God. They are radically independent and use sole eldership with only deacons as the other church officers. This means that the pastor is solely in charge. Their church government is a weird hybrid that is certainly not the type of church government used in the New Testament. Their previous pastor, who put his drunken son on church staff and is now in prison for having murdered a church member, a man whose wife was having an affair with the selfsame pastor (David Love) was allowed to do exactly as he liked. And even with that sobering lesson on the moral failure of their church, the church has blithely resolved to "move forward." Nothing has changed, so look for more gross corruption and harm in future. read more
