I was welcomed when I walked in and people looked excited to be there. It's a large church so there were a lot of seating options but it did fill up right as the service I went to started at 9. Worship was so good! Everyone was passionate. It was just the right amount to prepare your heart and then they dove into the Word. They are a Bible teaching church which I love. They stuck to the Word then taught how it applied in today's world. It was convicting with love. After service I looked around and they offer tons of resources and groups for people. I loved their bookstore area. The gal that checked me out even gave me a first time gift. Way to make me feel special and included. I visit this area somewhat regularly and look forward to returning!

First let me say how beautiful the area is as well as the building itself. Everyone we came into contact with was super sweet and reached out to introduce themselves as well as get to know you. I absolutely loved the worship experience and Pastor Todd's Easter message was awesome and very inspiring. I like that he taught sound Biblical Principals but also added in real life struggles that we as followers deal with. He didn't sugar coat it and it was relevant and left you thinking long after the sermon. My family and I can't wait to attend another service here!

My first experience here was terrible…read more My best friend and I went to a Sunday morning mass here back in 2009 or 2010 when our families were camping at Seacliff State Beach. We wanted to go to mass, but were unprepared since we hadn't planned to, so we only had "beach clothes," shorts and t-shirts. I felt bad, but was always told not to let anything keep you in the way of you and Jesus. After all, John the Baptist wore rags and other great Biblical figures never had nice clothes. And the church is just half a mile from the beach, so I figured they would be more relaxed and understanding. However, when we went we felt completely uncomfortable. Everyone was really dressed up and gave us dirty looks in our shorts and t-shirts. They had greeters, but nobody even greeted us or talked to us. Everyone seemed to know everyone, but not a single person talked to us or made us feel welcome. I've been to many masses at many Catholic churches all over the country and that was honestly the most unwelcome I have EVER felt in a church. Recently, when my family was staying on Seacliff Beach again I decided to give it a second shot since I wanted a Sunday mass. This time, I made sure to wear long pants and went by myself. This time, was a lot better. I was greeted and talked to several times. The priest was great and the whole church seemed like it had a nice parish community. There were a lot of high schoolers involved in the mass, which was great and the homily was very down-to-earth. Totally different experience. The people still seemed a little stuck up and exclusive, obviously everyone knows everybody, and being by myself I definitely felt like an outsider. But there were several older ladies who were really sweet and talked to me, which made it better. Overall, from my two experiences here, Resurrection is a beautiful church in a beautiful location. The parishioners could definitely work on being more welcoming and inclusive. After all, the church is GOD'S HOUSE for ALL PEOPLE, regardless of how they're dressed or how they look. Maybe next time I'm in Aptos on a Sunday, I will try again and hopefully this will have changed.

As a gay couple it was very difficult finding a clergy person to marry us and Pastor Anthony was so kind about it. He married us in San Juan Bautista and did a good job. We were also able to rent the church property for our rehearsal dinner the night prior which worked wonderfully for what we needed it for. The weather was beautiful and the church grounds were able to fit about 50 guests outside comfortably. We loved it and our guests loved it too. There were so many beautiful views and the church staff was so kind and generous to us. We did minimal decor because the church and views speak for themselves. We would highly recommend this church for an intimate wedding or rehearsal dinner. Disclaimer: This venue does not allow alcohol on the premises so we did a sparkling apple cider toast.

We need this kind of cooperation and worldinesz now more than ever in this nationalist-leaning country. I go to this fellowship. It's a beautiful place inside and out. We talk about religions, issues and philosophies from all around the world. The speakers, Reverend Russ and music (piano, solo musicians and choir) do a beautiful job bringing Sundays to life. They have a free meditation group on Tuesdays, a preschool and youth program, a book club, and independent religious study groups. As a secular, I would definitely check it out if you're in town or are looking for an open forum for talk and belief. (Also they have an amazing lunch after each service. This ain't your Sunday box of donuts)
