The assistant Pastor (Pastor David Buress ) is also amazing and knowledgeable we have Deacon Taub who is teaching on the 40 grace gifts received at salvation and doing an amazing job. We have just ordained Pastor Barry McLaughlin who teaches on occasion and also Pastor Rodger Redmond from Red Bank Baptist Church in TN who does a conference every year and he is in his 80s. we have newley ordained Pastor Vernon Richardson based in Leesburg FLA who pastors Westside Baptist FLA. This team of pastors is unmatched we also have pastors ordained around the world through FGBI .The Free Grace Bible Institute. We have Pastor Matthew Mike in the S. phillipeans , Pastor Freddy Birones in N. phillipeans as well as pastors in Kenya, Pakistan, and others in Africa , this tiny church in Sharpsville, PA reaching people around the world.

It runs until Sunday night. The Spanakopita and Grape Leaves were beyond words. The green beans in tomato sauce were excellent. The Mousaka and the Pastitio were the weakest links and they were good. I brought home some absolutely divine looking desserts, but haven't indulged. Alright, I ate one of the butter cookies in the car. Can't wait to finish off the rest.

Our…read morePastor, Jim Driskell is very knowledgeable in relating the Bible to us in a way that is understandable and relative. He schedules a monthly prayer breakfast and a Men's Network meeting. From children's Bible study to adult study, education in the Bible is emphasized. We are an active congregation. We have had events such as VBS, a Block Party, Halloween Trunk or Treat, Service in the Park with picnic, monthly craft classes, and a Sharing and Caring/Outreach committee. Recently we hosted a sauerkraut take out dinner to great success. We will be celebrating our 98th anniversary with a Thanksgiving type dinner this year and are entering a float in the New Castle Light Up Parade. If you are looking for a church that is welcoming, Christ Lutheran is definitely worth a visit and maybe stay awhile.

A woman says hello and I asked her if I had reached the Richard Brown Memorial. She simply said "NOT TODAY!" and hung up on me. I called back to clear up any disrespect she may have heard from my side, but she did not answer. I left a voicemail saying why I was calling. to let me know if I had reached the wrong number, if that was the case. If this truly does represent your ministry then I would hate for anybody else going through a hard time to come across her.

I wasn't sure if I was a believer, but I loved the people and the community and so I would go with my father from time to time. I recently was back in Youngstown (I have been away 20 plus yrs) and decided to go to church with my father. I was instantly taken back... the church is still beautiful and there are still some "guards of the old congregation", and there are new people and friendly...and the spirit is still the same....everyone is welcome. No judgement. The congregation has dwindled of course, but the new pastor is from Texas (where I currently live) and I found his sermon not only insightful but humorous and sobering at the same time. He came across as vibrant and caring, a good fit for the congregation. Do not let the small congregation put you off.... if you are a student, or neighbor or just in the area looking for fellowship and prayer, this is a wonderful welcoming scrappy little church with big heart! and again....they welcome folks from all walks of life....and you really should go and give a listen to the new pastor!
