This is truly an special and unusual place! Dynamic preaching that is relevant and often humorous - but never watered down. The music is powerful, loud and awesome! Friendly people, and amazing leadership. Something for every member of the family. What's unusual about the Movement? They do not offer membership as do other churches, because they are not a country club or a gym. If you want to become involved on a deeper level, and you attend regularly; the Movement offers those who are interested the opportunity to become "Leaders". This is best described as servant leaders - who are expected to work in some capacity once a month, give sacrificially ( although giving is a private matter and no collection plate is passed) attend leaders meetings several times a year and work in the nursery every few months. We think this idea is revolutionary.! No one is burned out or worked to death here, while others enjoy the benefits of membership and do nothing. It's contemporary style of worship and belief that the Holy Spirit should do his work - there are no rules about conduct except what is sin, as opposed to church convention; makes it especially welcoming for young people. In our last church, our then 18 year old received lots of stares of disapproval about his tattoos - that would never happen at the Movement. This is not a "Mega Church", it's more like a large family of believers. I can't describe it. well enough - it's an experience, not a service. read more

Rust City Church in Niles was an awful experience for my wife and me, and we will never attend again. The service was unbearably loud to the point that it gave both of us headaches. Instead of feeling like a place of worship, it felt empty, hollow, and completely disconnected from Christ. There was no cross on the altar or stage, and the entire atmosphere felt spiritually dead. There was no sense of reverence, no sense of God's presence, and nothing about it felt truly Christ-centered. It felt more like a performance venue than a church. What made it even worse was seeing items being sold in the welcome hall. That was deeply offensive to us. A church should not feel like a marketplace, especially when Jesus made His feelings about that very clear in Scripture. It was disturbing and disgraceful to see that kind of thing happening in a place that claims to represent Him. The only positive thing I can say is that their Wednesday night food bank seems to be worthwhile. Beyond that, I cannot recommend this church at all. For us, Rust City Church was a complete disappointment and disgrace, and we will never be back. read more

I have been going to Rust City Church for almost 2 years now. I searched a lifetime for a church, community and Godly women to be placed into my life so that I could grow in my faith and heal. Our pastors are incredible, filled with biblical knowledge and speaking life into the broken and lost. Rust City also has to be the most diverse church I've ever been to, welcoming everyone with open arms. I struggled with addiction in the past, depression, anxiety, physical health issues. This is my home, my sanctuary and my family. I highly encourage people that are looking for a community of people, awesome worship, messages and life long friendships to give this church a visit. I have been attending for about a year now, at first it was hard to get to know people because of what the church had just experienced but as time passed I become more comfortable with them and they became more comfortable with me. They truly are a family that cares for everyone that walks through the doors no matter where you are at in your journey. They love to serve others in the church and the community. This church has helped me blossom and mature in my faith. I've never met a group of more genuine and beautiful hearted people. They accepted me from day one and do that with every person that walks through the door.
