I was wrong, it's also huge, and despite being slightly baffled as to why they would open two giant stores within a few hundred yards of each other in a space of a matter of weeks (as well as another smaller store also in Buchanan Galleries), you've got to hand it to H&M as they certainly aren't shy about making their presence felt. Inside it's the usual mix of male, female and childrens' clothing, all very cheap and all probably quite fashionable, though I wouldn't really know. I've not bought anything from here yet but as my jeans have a massive hole in the backside and need replaced urgently, H&M are difinitely in the running for my custom.

I also really like their accessories and recently bought a really cute blue flowey hairband and Hello Kitty socks. Their scarves are also really pretty with really unusual colourful designs which will always receive plenty of compliments. I'm not a great fan of their going out clothes though and they seem to use really cheap material for everything which I hate the feel of. This H&M also really annoys me because it has a rediculous layout and apart from the changing rooms there aren't any mirrors so to see what accessories look like on you have to go to the changing room with them which is just silly. There also seems to be not enough tills for the size of the shop which often causes lengthy queues resulting in me usually putting things back and leaving. I used to live in Dresden in Germany and there weren't many clothes shops. H&M was really the only affordable one, resulting in everyone walking around looking like clones designed by H&M. Not a good look.

Pro's for this place: It's HUGE, so lots of room for browsing and trying on shoes & the like. Lots of other label clothes alongside their own. Always a massive selection of SALE stuff. Lots of shoes if you're a shoe freakazoid. It's open late being situated in Braehead. Con's: The lighting in here is AWFUL ~ I don't know what they have/n't done but I think it makes the place look awfully sad and depressing... They don't stock any of their underwear or nightwear range ~ for a store this size that's a bit odd. The tills are usually woefully understaffed and you can be in a queue for quite some time on occasions. Although this is one of their bigger stores in Glasgow the variety/range isn't that great ~ it seems like its stuff that could fit in a much smaller store just spread out more. I don't really dislike this store; I would (and do) go back. I'd say it's more a 2.5 stars. I just feel with a space this size they could do SO much more with it...it's like they have the money to rent the unit but they've run out of money to do it up a bit. Shame. They should get Mary Portas in!

Looks a lot less cluttered and has a bigger range of products - including tall, inspire and mens. Its now an a par with the stores at Silverburn and Buchannan Street. Has a massive range of shoes and boots - I love them because pretty much any colour you want you can get and they soooo comfy! Always has a good stock, in fact it was pretty much the only place in Braehead we could find decent party dresses still in stock 2 weeks before christmas. Very affordable for whatever you are looking for and always keeps up with the latest trends.

I popped in with a specific goal today: hat. I wasn't actually too fussed on what kind of hat, I just needed some headwear for a mad hatters tea party I'm going to tomorrow. The store sometimes seems a bit of a mess but I think there's only only person to blame (or people, the customers!). I headed to the accessories part and immediately saw a great sun hat, black, wide brim and would have been perfect last week when we had so much sunshine. For only £7.99. Also works perfectly for the party tomorrow PLUS I can wear it when summer returns to Glasgow (ahem, I'm sure that will be soon). Super friendly lady on the register with good chat and no upselling. Pleasant experience but I just can't get that enthused about H&M these days. I also don't like the security guard standing at the door, I know this is in most shops along Buchanan Street in Glasgow which is a shame, but not really a welcoming sight.

I love H & M, and made the effort to take advantage of their discount when they opened by having a quick peruse which ended up in a bit of a shopping frenzy. I bought a new jacket and a long-sleeved top, promising myself to go back another time to get the other clothes I liked. It's pretty big, with a good selection of clothes for men and women. I like that no-one ever hassles me in H & M. I am left alone to try things on and make my own mind up on what I want. They also do good accessories like sunglasses, hats and gloves. I will probably go here from now on rather than the one inside Buchanan Galleries as the location is better for me. Check it out!

I always find myself disappointed with Miss Selfridge…read more It began when I was about 15 and bought a couple of cute jumpers in here. I returned to the store later that day for some reason, and found that they'd reduced one of them by £10 in my 3-hour absence. While they refunded the difference, it was a hassle, and I don't think that bodes well for them. After that, I washed the thing once and it shrunk, then I had another hassle with returning it. Despite having a bad experience with them, I've tended to give it a shot once in awhile to see what's on offer. Although it's part of the Arcadia group, the quality of the clothing here seems to be sub-par in comparison with, in particular, it's sister store Topshop. The styles differ and Miss Selfridge tends to be a little bit cheaper, but for some reason everything seems to be of a much lower standard. However, you can get lucky and find a pair of leggings for £12 in here that - for essentially the same thing - cost £20 in Topshop. Bargain! Their sales seem to be pretty good. I think the trouble lies with the fact that what they sell is simply not my style. If you're looking for a cheaper alternative to Topshop that still offers student discount and clothes that are a little less "out there" - this is the place to look.

I do like the clothes here, but for some reason I don't find myself shopping here that much as it often a bit hit or miss. The sizes are quite odd sometimes to and some items can look a little bit stretched of material even though it's probably more expensive than Topshop. The average top is around £35 and although that isn't too bad I often find that a similar top in Topshop would look slightly better quality and last a bit longer too as many clothes I've bought from Miss Selfridge look a bit done after a few washes. They do have some really cute dresses though and I have a fair few of them, I think the dresses is where their strengths lie.

It also sells small gifts, shoes, bags and accessories. There is a huge changing room at the back of the shop and the counter is in the middle. The shop is reasonably stocked, the only downside is the aisles are rather small and the clothing rails are over stocked making it hard to move around the shop. Also some staff are not too friendly and try to push you to get their store card.

As this place is pretty hard to get to without a car I don't get the chance to come that often but when I do oh boy is it a blast. It has a great selection of clothes, underwear, jewellery and other accessories, a huge changing room space and everything is really well organised. I nearly cried when I popped in last night to see that the Topshop sale had started and there was about 20 sale racks, in fact, most of the shop was on sale. After hugging a sale rack for a while with my friend looking at me like I was some kind of lunatic I decided to browse. I've never seen a Topshop so regimented at sale time, okay so some of it was a bit chaotic but in comparison with city centre branches where everyone and their gran throws sale clothing around I could get used to browsing the sale in a calm and collected manner like I did here last night. I'm excited just thinking about it. I ended up getting a gorgeous lacy dress reduced from £38 to £18 and I got a 10% student discount too! Wowee! The non sale section had so many gorgeous dresses that I haven't seen in other branches recently and the staff were really friendly too. So if you're a fan of Topshop, head along to the branch in Silverburn if you get the chance. It's awesome.

Although not a place that I shop in, my mum has a few really nice outfits from here, they are all very good quality and very reasonably priced. You can get dresses for around £35 and coats and jackets for about £60. In recent years Wallis has tried to become more and more trendy. I guess this is probably due to shows from Gok Wan and Trinny and Susannah helping women of all ages feel confident about the way they dress. I guess it's just like a more mature Topshop for women who want to dress their age but don't want that to mean that they have to dress like a granny. Wallis fills that gap pretty well. They also stock some pretty quirky accessories and scarves too so you can customise your whole outfit.

Topshop can be a bit hit and miss. Either they have loads of items I love or nothing! The store is well laid out and as you walk through to the back of the store, there is a section for shoes/boots which has it's own till. I have been obsessed with these particular black slip on shoes from Topshop for so long now and I thought they were in need of an upgrade so I went in to pick up a new pair. I remember the first pair i got and how insanely comfy they were from the get go. Anyway, I picked up the same style (different pattern) and headed to the till. The guy who served me was really friendly and I couldn't wait to wear my new shoes! Insert Paolo Nutini song). Sadly, these ones are not so comfy and after almost murdering my feet, I've placed them on the shoe rack. I am determined to wear them in though, cause they're so comfy (eventually, the first pairm ust have been luck) and go with everything! Anyway, aside from shoe drama, I like this Topshop. They have a good range of jewellery and accessories too and random sweets etc near the till to tempt you. They have a good range of Topshop Beauty items as well, but I would like to see more.
