Went for a follow up visit in April 2014, and then got a ridiculous bill. Office personnel explained that I was sent a letter in April that they were no longer in network, and that I should've read my mail before I came for the follow up visit. I said you should've informed me at the time of the visit that I was not in network anymore. They reported me to a collection agency for the amount of $48 which was the differential for the visit in network and out of network that I refused to pay. They report it to the credit bureau every month through their collection agency still four years later. Pretty much jerks. I tried to call the office several times to ask them to write it off because it was an extenuating circumstance but they would rather ruin my credit rating than be understanding about what they could have done at the time of the visit. I'm going to return the favor now and give them a poor yelp. I'm never going to pay the differential as a matter of principle, because the person at the front desk could've just let me know and I would not have had the visit which was nothing more than me saying my foot felt better. If you know anything about provider contracting, it's not an event that takes place overnight. I surmise that when I originally asked this group if they were in network they knew full well that as of April 1 they would no longer be in network with my insurer. It was irresponsible of this group not to inform me of the contract end date at the original visit, and then to follow up with the letter just as they were ending their contract. No phone call, and no information at the time of my visit in March. Sending a letter was a very passive approach and probably purposefully so. It's time you folks let it go.

Unfortunately my visit to this one was the result of an injury. Now, I grew up seeing a chiropractor, so I'm no newbie to this. On my first visit I was seen by Dr. Spadafino. We went through a series of range of motion exercises so she could check where I was at and she took x-rays. I was a little disappointed that I didn't get adjusted that first visit but she said she had wanted to read my x-rays. I get it. I came in a couple days later and she showed me what was wrong. She recommended that I come in three times a week for the next three weeks. I believe in the treatment, so I complied. About midway through my sessions, because I was driving in from an hour away and we were moving, I asked if we could postpone treatment until after our move. She told me she wanted to stay ahead of the "subluxation" in my spine. Because I believe in the treatment, I coincided. On my last visit for my treatment, she told me she wanted to now see me two times a week for the next three weeks. Okaaaay. I just could not commit to that. I would spend two hours (there and back) in the car for a ten minute adjustment. I feel like the Dr's here are good but I'm used to receiving a little bit more from a chiropractic experience. My previous chiropractor was also a naturopath and did a lot with kinesiology and sold Standard Process vitamins. I felt treated more as a whole person rather than just fragmented parts. Also, the building is dingy inside. You'd think with the amount of money this place is bringing in they could update the place and make it nice. Dirty carpeted floors, harsh lighting, not to mention they still use paper for everything (intake forms, billing) I like places that are a little more environmentally friendly. But maybe that's scheduled for a day in the future? Not the best chiropractic experience I've ever had, but fortunately not the worst either.
