Need breakfast, snacks, gas, or fuel for your mower or camper? Apparently this is your stop. We visited while in town from Florida seeing family, and two locals in our group specifically recommended it. Even they commented that service was unusually slow that morning and apologized on behalf of the restaurant because apparently this wasn't the norm. It took about 10 minutes for someone to greet us and take drink orders, and probably another 30 minutes for food to arrive. Thankfully, the staff was very friendly throughout the experience. The food itself was delicious. The pancakes were massive -- literally the size of an adult's head -- fluffy, sweet, buttery, and almost tasted lightly fried around the edges in the best possible way with that little bit of crisp texture. Eggs were cooked perfectly, and I appreciated that the bacon was clearly made to each person's preference since some in our group ordered extra crispy while others preferred traditional-style bacon. Not a fancy place by any means, but definitely one of those local spots that feels woven into the community.

Owner passed away,…read moreafter that the family kept it open for about a year or so but since it was a family place and so many of us went because of that family, it just wasn't the same and the son who was running it decided he didn't want to do it alone any longer, the owner was his mother and father and they were both gone now. We all still miss it, especially at Thanksgiving because they had the traditional Thanksgiving Day lunch/diner all day every year!! We who are tired of cooking every holiday would gather there and celebrate with them often. Loved that time we had with them. They are a special family who brought us great food and great hospitality for many years.
