It's tucked inside an old grocery…read morestore that now functions as part convenience store, part restaurant, and even part gas station with above-ground fuel tanks offering both regular and diesel. Need breakfast, snacks, gas, or fuel for your mower or camper? Apparently this is your stop. We visited while in town from Florida seeing family, and two locals in our group specifically recommended it. Even they commented that service was unusually slow that morning and apologized on behalf of the restaurant because apparently this wasn't the norm. It took about 10 minutes for someone to greet us and take drink orders, and probably another 30 minutes for food to arrive. Thankfully, the staff was very friendly throughout the experience. The food itself was delicious. The pancakes were massive -- literally the size of an adult's head -- fluffy, sweet, buttery, and almost tasted lightly fried around the edges in the best possible way with that little bit of crisp texture. Eggs were cooked perfectly, and I appreciated that the bacon was clearly made to each person's preference since some in our group ordered extra crispy while others preferred traditional-style bacon. Not a fancy place by any means, but definitely one of those local spots that feels woven into the community.

We just stopped back in today at the new location and loved it…read more You don't have to fight with any parking issues at all now, they have plenty of parking available now. It seems like that they have a lot more dining space too. I don't know if we really ever been charged extra for any condiments, I know that when we asked for extra butter or something like that we have received plenty of it. When I had a food choice dilemma, the server usually would give me both if it was a small order of something at no extra cost. They always go the extra mile to satisfy us. Today we even paid for an elderly couple's bill, and slid out the door without them knowing about their bill being take care of by us. Hopefully it made their day. We can't afford to do that often, but if we see a Veteran or an elderly couple, just our way of thanking them without them knowing who did it. But we love the new location and as always tip the staff well when they do good.

This definitely checked the box for atmosphere. The space is cute and welcoming with a mix of tables for working, couches for relaxing, and little boutique-style shopping areas along the walls with clothing, gifts, jewelry, books, and more. It was quiet during our visit aside from one family with small children, which made it a nice spot to sit and chat. I ordered an iced caramel latte, my daughter got a soda (served in the can with a cup of ice), and pricing felt comparable to Starbucks or Dunkin -- which I don't mind at all when supporting a local business. Unfortunately, the biggest downside was noticing flies inside the covered container with the beignets/donut holes. I understand bugs happen, especially in smaller towns and warmer weather, but it immediately turned us off from ordering any snacks or food items. The latte itself was just OK, nothing especially memorable. That said, I would still come back if I needed a comfortable place to sit and work, read, or visit with friends. The atmosphere was honestly the highlight for me.

What can you say about this historic establishment that has not been said before…read more Love the atmosphere! Old school diner feel with amazing servers. It truly shows why this establishment has survived the better part of a century. Sausage (local) was good and hearty! Paired it with two perfectly cooked over easy eggs. The buttermilk pancake was perfection. Light and fluffy, soaked the butter and syrup up quite nicely! Definitely check out this breakfast spot if you are in town. I know I will be back!

The food itself was a bit of a split decision. The ham steak was excellent--hands down the best I've ever had. The pancakes were good (and MASSIVE) although I ordered banana pancakes which were basically plain pancakes with ONE slice of banana on the top...pretty disappointing in that regard but they still tasted good. The bacon was really good. However, I was surprised and disappointed that they don't serve hash browns or any kind of potatoes at all, which feels like a big miss for a breakfast spot. The restaurant is extremely crowded, and the atmosphere just isn't my style. It's very diner‑ish, which some people may enjoy, but it's not for me. That said, our waitress was genuinely kind and very helpful, which was a pleasant change. Years ago, I had a bad experience here where we felt rushed out the door, and it left such a bad impression that I swore I'd never return. Service this time was much better, and I do give credit where it's due. Overall, while there were some standout items on the menu, the long wait, crowded space, and limited sides mean I wouldn't go out of my way to come back. Definitely not worth an hour wait in my opinion.
