Back again to this remote campground 7 years later, this time in an RV. Sites have water and…read moreelectric, and can be reserved through ReserveAmerica. I recommend reserving in advance. Although some sites were available, campers without reservations had to change sites in order to stay more than one night. And on a Saturday in June, the campground was completely full, even though the weather was less than ideal. In addition to campsites, there are a couple of small cabins here that can be rented. The sites are spacious and private. We walked from our site down to the beach, but it is a bit of a hike; so the next time we drove down the narrow road to the parking area. Cars are allowed to drive onto the sand, but the road down is rough, so you best be driving a high-clearance vehicle if you want to drive on the beach. With so many campgrounds situated near highways, or train tracks, the quiet at this campground was so welcome. While you are here, make sure to visit the Camp Blanco lighthouse and the Historic Hughes House.

The interpretive center was closed when we were there on a Monday but the hiking was well worth stopping at this wonderful place. A previous viewer said that the trails were poorly marked. I felt that the trail markers were clear. There is also a nice map at the research center kiosk.

Really enjoyed being able to see the falls on my recent trip to the Oregon Coast. As others have…read moresaid, the road has been fixed and you can drive all the way to the trailhead. (The last 8 miles or so has quite a few pot holes, so easy does it in a low-clearance vehicle.) You can walk to the bottom of both Golden and Silver falls in about 15 minutes. It's not a hike at all. It's a nature walk at best. This worked out perfectly on my visit, as I was with my mom, whose health wouldn't have allowed for more. Had I wanted to do some true hiking, I would've been disappointed. The trailhead also points out a 60-minute hike, which I think takes you up and behind Golden Falls, and is likely more like a hike. The path to the base of both falls is totally family friendly, and it's very pretty. Amazing to see so much greenery - lots of ferns ... you're in a rain forest! There are pit toilets in the parking lot. They were in fairly bad shape when we were there, so be warned. Also a few picnic tables. Dog-friendly, so long as the dogs are leashed.

There are flat, paved paths that lead around the grounds and through various interpretive signs that serve to educate about the area and wildlife found nearby. Views abound from atop the point, while stairs lead down to the expansive beach area and gorgeous rock formations below. Highly Recommend :)

We came here with our two friends each of them having a little one strapped to their backs. Our dog Momo was also part of the group and she particularly loved this walk. At the time we were her in late spring (end of May), we were able to see still lots of wild flowers, but my friend mentioned that Renee were even more a few weeks earlier. The trails are mostly leading through forest area and so you're in the shade most of the time. We took a trail that led us to the peak and we were able to enjoy lovely views over the valley. Note: there's lots of poison oak here. If you have small kids with you, remind them to be vigilant.

If you want to get away from the city buzz, just come to this park and take a stroll along the duck…read morepond to find the Japanese gardens. There, you will find peace and tranquility. Very easy trails to walk on. I even saw some older people in wheelchairs using the path.

We were able to get in an hour stroll because we walked through the disc golf area. There's plenty of parking. And the bathrooms near the swimming pool were very clean.

Nice beach with access by car. It's perfect for people with disabilities that can't walk well from…read morethe car to the shore. The sand is compact and easy to walk or wheel on. It can be used with a cane. This area is well contained and good for dogs to get some exercise. Since you can drive on the beach you need to watch your dog to keep them safe from on coming cars. It's clean and not too crowded. There aren't hiking trails nearby but there are bike riding ones. If you go at low tide there is plenty of space to runaround and a stream that has fresh water for pups to drink from.
