While generally speaking such people deserve to be booted out and barred, it's mildly acceptable behaviour in this humble little restaurant on account of the better-than-average Euro fare on offer. A decent selection of pizzas, steak pies and an all day Scottish breakfast to name but a few, complement the ever reliable Indian grub Papa Gills specialises in. Unfortunately this place suffers from its out the way location, meaning a trip here takes more planning than visiting your average Glaswegian curry house. Worth a visit if you're in the area though.

This simple little restaurant is easy to walk by as I have done for nearly 5 years but Boy! Can these guys do a mean curry!!! There was so much to choose from on the menu and all looked so mouthwatering I couldn't make my mind up. The waiter was so friendly and helpful. I told him I fancied something with kick but not blow my head off, and described the kind of things I liked resulting in him recommending a dish that wasn't even on the menu called a Lamb Daisy... a new one on me.... Done! Starters were a mixed dish for two which came with a great selection consisting of various pakoras, Chicken chaat, and various other tasty morsels. Even the pakora sauce wasn't run of the mill. Well couldn't recommend the Lamb Daisy enough, the lamb was tender, cooked to perfection and a kick that hit the spot... Wow!! Exactly what I was looking for. You know yourself what its like when you order a curry and your easily disappointed... too hot, too mild, too creamy, too dry... This was incredible! Don't be shy, put these guys to the test, they won't disappoint. Reasonably priced for such a great taste sensation, washed down with an Icy Cobra beer. It may not be the best location for the Glasgow curry lovers but well worth the try.

The taste of Indian food here is better than expected, my boyfriend loves this place because he thinks its his own little secret find. I guess this is the reason many who love The wee Curry Shop do, they all think it as a little personal place for them, that they have found, and they can go to have good food. I agree, I like that when I feel like a curry I have the perfect place to go.

Why then, have I left it until now to visit The Wee Curry Shop? It's always been there. I like curry. What have I been doing? Clearly I am a bit of a fool. I can only comment on the food I got to take out, which I did because I was dining alone and because I needed to get back to the office. If that doesn't sound like a fun day it's because it wasn't one but this was definitely the highlight. I ordered spinach chicken and basmati rice. I waited in the lovely little restaurant while it was bring prepared. It's a really nice space, although I did feel a bit under-dressed to be there. I'd love to get dressed up and come back for a date night or something. At some point the restaurant manager realised the chef was cooking my chicken bone-in and came over to ask if that would be ok. He was very attentive - I assured him it would be fine. I'd noticed that this was a Mother India restaurant and well... that name is good enough that I'd trust their chefs with almost anything. The food was delicious. I had a huge hunk of perfectly tender chicken in a fragrant sauce packed with really fresh spinach. Is it weird that I was really enthusiastic about the rice? I normally don't care that much about rice - it's kind of just their to soak up the curry sauce - but this time it was amazing. There's a discount if you order food to take away so this was also surprisingly inexpensive. My partner is jealous that I went here without him so I think we'll be back soon. I definitely recommend it if you're in this part of the West End and in the mood for a curry.

Since the nearby New Pearl of India was done up to resemble a lottery winners living room, the Shezam has struggled somewhat to hold on to its loyal band of regulars. But to be fair to it, it has survived against all odds. And I have heard that on a Thursday night you can get a buffet for a pound if buying another full price one! It doesn't really matter if it's good or not, it's a pound! I'll be back for sure.

As you can imagine, a business that has been around so long has a legion of regulars, and has definitely earned each and every one. Nomi is the kind of business owner who is all about his customers. He loves a bit of banter, and is always keen to make sure you've enjoyed your meal, and to find out if and how service can be improved. The food itself is always fresh and tasty, and can be made more or less spicy at your request (excellent for those who aren't satisfied until they have a volcano in their mouths, as well as the shy of spice). The selection is to die for, and the Shezan is also one of the few places where you can actually order gajrela for dessert - so yummy. And just so you know, you can have speciality Indian teas instead of the bog-standard tea for the end of your meal. Tis definitely the best Indian restaurant to be found in the Mount Florida / Battlefield area. Get on down there and partake!
