My family member was a patient here on a couple of occasions, and until the end of their life. The facility cannot keep staff, there are always agency employees there who do not give a damn. They are just waiting out the hours for their paycheck. They are rude and utterly stupid! There was so much incompetence, uncaring behavior, disregard for an individual's meaning of life, etc. It is a depressive, oppressive, shut them up in any locked closet you can find type of facility. After my family member's passing, not one word was said to me from anyone as I walked out in tears, or since. I can say the only person who seemed to show in caring was the janitor. When I went to search for a box of Kleenex, she offered me some tissues and gave me a hug. Don't let them fool you. They may be one of the very few facilities in the area, but there has to be a better choice out there.

ABUSE/NEGLECT by The Neighborhoods by Tiger Place…read more I went in to visit a relative today. The heat was on in her room. A soiled adult diaper was open by her bed. Flies were swarming around, and she was crying. She said she could've breathe because she was hot. I summonsed the caseworker, who brought 2 other staff members in the room with her. The attempted to make excuses as to why I found my relative as I did. They said she was being cared for, or she would still be in the soiled diaper. She did not have any diaper on. When I pointed that out, they said that's why they put (something; I didn't hear what they said) under the mattress. So, if my relative urinated or had a bowel movement, who knows how long they would have to lay in it. I am on hold, ready to report them for abuse/neglect. They are mandatory reporters of abuse/neglect. I wonder if they will report the staff member(s) who left my relative in that condition? One of those in the room pointed to something in the file and said, "not here now." Sounded like that person may have left at shift change. No human should be treated that way. My relative has dementia, recently had surgery after a stroke, and since has been paralyzed on her left side. The social worker said, "I know we have a care meeting on Monday, but you are free to look at other facilities." I am devastated. DO NOT PLACE ANYONE THERE.

I was not placed in the rehab unit, but in the LTC unit, with people struggling to exist, while there was a room available in the rehab unit, as confirmed by the supervising nurse. I was assigned to a room just on the other side of the daycare playground. When the children weren't outside screaming, my view was a rock wall. The very narrow mattress had a bar going down the middle and slid every time I tried to get into bed. I was there after hip surgery, so this did not work. The mattress was exchanged, but not much better. I finally asked for a different room, and was given a room with a view of the woods with a wider mattress. After a day of using paper towels, I asked about towels and was given some. I had a special ice bucket for my surgical site, with the only time it was ever filled, was at my request. With bed sores developing, I went up to sleep on a couch in the lobby, and was given another mattress the next night. That mattress was worse than any of the others, with one side high and one low. The chairs had no support for someone recovering from hip surgery. One time I waited an hour and a half before my call button was answered. While I didn't observe any elder abuse, I did observe a "cold, indifferent attitude" by many of the staff. I was left wondering about the condition of the LTC patients mattresses, bed sores, inability to self advocated, etc. I could say more, but hope this is enough to give you pause for serious consideration before going to the NEIGHBORHOODS or placing a loved one there.

If you were a patient, would that be an acceptable answer for you? Paying full price for half the care is absurd. Would never recommend this location to anyone. Do better. (I worked in admissions at the Atchison location and this never would have been acceptable care. The only reason he didn't go there was because they were full on beds.)

He is getting great care with amazing therapy. He seems very pleased with the help he's getting and is making improvements every day. The Physical Therapist who work there have your best interest in mind and they always take your well being and future personally. Their end goal never seems to be the bottom dollar but instead, that you will be pain free, able to walk or throw....to succeed after surgery or whatever ailment made you come to them. The facility is VERY clean and in this day of COVID scare, an attendant is there wiping down and sanitizing every piece of equipment you utilize. When there are so many places to choose from, let this be your first call as they are amazing.

But today I stand strong, sober, and spiritually evolved. Synergy was the beginning of real life healing. My actual journey to living a true life, a life worth living. As far as year 2020, the staff was phenomenal. The amenities made me feel safe and cared for. The learning curriculum was absolutely everything I personally needed, a mix of scientific facts, and spiritual knowledge. The land is so beautifully correct. Everything to make a safe haven. They respected me as a human, and didn't just see me for mental illnesses and walking addiction. The program isn't the same for everyone. It gets altered to make it just right for YOU.
